Okay let me just say that this is a dick of a deck. Like holy fuck. Also as an agro player +1, I am going to make this just to annoy a few of my friends.

Thank you. Annoying friends was definitely what I was going for. :)

Snapcaster Mage is paramount, you can beat with it and with venser shit gets sweet. also Celestial Colonnade is a must, that way if a game is not going exactly the way you want you still have some sort of a win condition

Meddling Mage could be good out of the board, since they think you don't have creatures and will probably board out removal.

and don't be a chump, wizards didn't redefine the format for you not to play 4x Flooded Strand and 4x Hallowed Fountain

path to exile instead of condemn, especially with isocrhon sceptre as things like dark confidant with just sit there and you will lose to it when it never had to attack. Drop the silence count to 2-3 as yes it "can" lock sorcery speed decks out with isochron, it by itself it really bad in this deck particularly as you lose card disadvantage when most things go one for one. they can still do things like electrolyze/ bolt in response as well. Think twice is a lot better then divination. Swap 1-3 supreme verdicts for wrath of god as right now you straight up just lose to thrun and some boggle decks that put regenerate abilities on there guy. drop a couple quickens so you at least have 4 path to exiles, as of right now decks that run 20 aggressive one drops like wild nactyl steppe lynx and goblin guide etc will just walk all over you with only 4 spells to deal with them once they already hit the ground ( your dead by the time you cast supreme verdict against those decks or close enough to dead that burn or hasty creatures/ man lands will just finish you after you verdict). Maybe try something like Porphyry Nodes. I think you also need to up your counters as mana leak is your only way of dealing with combo( turn 3 pestermite, turn 4 spilnter twins, storm ad naeusium etc)

Try thirst for knowledge to get rid of redundant isochron sceptres to. Also 22 lands is looking really light for 4 sphinx rev. Try 24-26

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

I took out 1x Silence , 1x Quicken , and 2x Condemn to put in 4x Path to Exile .

I also adjusted the mana-base taking out 2x Plains and 2x Islands to add in 2x Hallowed Fountain and 2x Celestial Colonnade . I took out the 1x Divination for an extra land spot, and threw in a Flooded Strand .

The reason I'm not going with a playset of Flooded Strand and Hallowed Fountain is because I'm worried about my life total dropping two low and me not being able to deal with aggro decks. Most of the time I would probably just let the Fountains come in tapped.

Are the 3 quickens there solely for the supreme verdicts??

October 4, 2014 2:03 p.m.

Darcis says... #9

The Quickens are mostly for the Verdicts but they're also continual card-drawing on an Isochron Sceptor or at worst they thin my deck if I have an open mana and nothing to do.

You should replace Voyage's End by Azorius Charm.. provides more options

October 18, 2014 4:12 p.m.

Darcis says... #12

I'll have to do some playtesting with Azorius Charm. Right now I run Voyage's End almost exclusively for the scry. I'll do some testing with it and see how it does.

idk how much it costs so i will say sorry now if its expensive but i feel like you could benefit from something that returns everything and doesnt just board wipe because there are ways around wrath of god affects so i would run Devastation Tide instead of voyages end

October 23, 2014 3:12 p.m.

JakeHarlow says... #14

Azorius Charm is pretty much better than Voyage's End , but that's just my opinion. Also, if you want bounce, put some Echoing Truth in the SB. Bye-bye tokens.

No Serum Visions or Gitaxian Probe ? Snapcaster Mage has been mentioned but I'll put him out there again. Also, Remand ?

You'll want some yard hate on the side. Tormod's Crypt , Relic of Progenitus , and Rest in Peace all work. Another not bad sideboard piece is Leyline of Sanctity if your annoyed friends decide to come at you with hand disruption or burn! And when they get really mad and try Affinity, don't forget Kataki, War's Wage ! Finally, a spare Elixir of Immortality or two might not be amiss.

This last suggestion is a total spitball, but I'll post it anyway. After a big Sphinx's Revelation , Venser's Journal will let you keep your whole hand! I know there probably ain't room for it, but hey. Flavor at least. :)

Other annoying cards to make opponents frown because they can't do anything:

Cool build dude! +1 here, and sorry in advance for the overzealous comment. :D

October 23, 2014 3:20 p.m.

JakeHarlow says... #15

Oh, sorry, didn't see you had the Elixir already. Also, some of those cards, like Leyline, aren't exactly budget. My bad.

October 23, 2014 3:36 p.m.

This deck looks like so much fun and i think i can make it better: Elite Arcanist would give good recursion all of you instants plus you can switch between them with venser's +1. Stubborn Denial would be a possible couterspell you could include.
Possibly Cyclonic Rift for mass removal or spot removal. Jace's Erasure with a nice Sphinx's Revelation would be devastating.Crawlspace :).Aegis of the Gods so they cant touch you :) . you probably dont have room for this but Bident of Thassa then an AEtherspouts is always fun.

sidenote: 4x Elite Arcanist + Silence = mass rage quit

nice deck +1

This is a good lockdown, but I fail to see the win-condition...?

October 27, 2014 12:03 p.m.

Darcis says... #18

There isn't really a win condition. The closest thing we have is Celestial Colonnade. My goal when designing this deck was to create the best deck I could possibly think of that could consistently win without having any actual way to win. At least in my meta, this has been an overwhelming success.

October 27, 2014 12:15 p.m.

This deck is great, but how do you win?? If they have cards of the type "Return all creatures in your graveyard to your deck" or the same thing with mana, you will eventually take damage and lose...

November 12, 2014 5:58 p.m.

Darcis says... #20

FAMOUSWATERMELON the way to win is to completely lock them out of all of their spells. Isochron Scepter with Silence prevents them from playing spells on their turn, and Sundial of the Infinite prevents them from playing them during my turn. In addition, Venser, the Sojourner's -8 allows me to exile all of their land, making it impossible for them to cast anything. Generally, if the game lasts until turn 6 (the first turn I can Supreme Verdict+Silence on a stick), it's almost impossible for the opponent to come back.

How does it do against the mirror match? xD

November 22, 2014 1:45 p.m.

Darcis says... #22

Killkow well, usually there's a lot of land. Like, all of it. And then Silence. Lots of Silence. Not just the card, the players usually stop talking too. Next the land is exiled. And then, since the players no longer have land, they forget they're in the middle of a game, so they just put their libraries back together and start a new game.

And it never ends.

November 22, 2014 1:56 p.m.

You already got my +1 though!

(Not actually a real suggestion, but) if you wanted to be an extremely cruel SOB you could run Cranial Archive to force the opponent to sit through and entirely unnecessary iteration of drawing their deck one turn at a time :D
