I unfortunately do not have Chalice (I'm kind of budget), but if I had it I would probably cut Detention Sphere and Sundial of the Infinite. It's a little risky though, since if we name 2 for Chalice we lose access to Mana Leak. Definitely don't do 1 (unless the matchup requires it), since the 1 CMC spells are more important than the 2 CMCs.

Pretty solid list but needs Wrath of God to deal with Thrun, the Last Troll.

One of my friends used to play something similar with Stonehorn Dignitary + Venser, the Sojourner to make for no combat phases. His deck is Venser, The Sojourner's Infinite Baneslaying. It was pretty horrible to play against.

have you thought of putting in more sorcery cards cause if you never draw into a verdict then quicken is just useless

While Dragonlord Ojutai would fit in great here, I'm trying to keep with the gimmick of not having a legitimate win condition in the mainboard. Thanks for the suggestion, though!

i feel like a Ghost Quarter or two would be very worthwhile. It helps you slow down tron, storm, and even hurts amulate bloom. Not to mention popping another control deck's manlands

my problem is what prevents you from drawing out first?

Sojourn goes well with ETB and Landfall.

CheeseBro I don't draw out first because Elixir of Immortality shuffles in my library.

Loreshadow Venser is in the deck almost exclusively for his ultimate, but he also allows me to blink my Isochron Scepter and Detention Sphere.

I love Isochron Scepter its one of my favourite cards to build around, one of my favourite decks to play with is my Selesnya Scepters, where i also use the scepter with Silence, but I also use it for Fog/Druid's Deliverance making it really hard for them to damage me, and Selesnya Charm for constant removal and token spawning, fun on a bun

Rune Snag over Mana Leak maybe, without snapcaster in the deck they have more relevance throughout the game. or even Deprive is as close to straight counterspell as you can get. Possibly Logic Knot to use the graveyard as a resource, but the delve would make snag a bit worse.

i think you have given your deck the perfect name. You have inspired me tho (more reminded me). I thought it would be fun to build a laboratory maniac deck. Just replace the 2 elixer with 2 mainboard and 2 sideboard laboratory maniac and it would look like a deck i might build, and have a win condition.

I might swap an Island and a Plains for two more Celestial Colonnade.
