The Attack of the Defenders...Wait What?

Modern Battlecruiser Budget Burn Casual Ramp RG (Gruul)

Consistent T4-5 play and devastation of Colossus of Akros / massive burn. Who knew those idle Defenders that sit there and defend can be so threatening? All hail Colossus of Akros .

Axebane Guardian and Overgrown Battlement are the two main creatures to help ramp into a nice Colossus of Akros or a juicy Devil's Play to the face as early as turn 4. By turn 5, you got a massive hulk of a colossus with trample, or you're flashbacking Devil's Play to do the devil's work once more. All of the other creatures are self-explanatory and serve their purpose in the deck, either with getting yourself lands, drawing a card, ramping up with more mana, or defending against fliers.

Noncreature spells also all serve a functional purpose. Lead the Stampede and Harmonize both help to refill my hand and smash my opponent with more defenders. With a plentiful amount of creatures, Lead the Stampede works really well. Red spells help out in doing what the defenders can't do (except for Colossus) - kill the opponent's creatures. Mizzium Mortars works nicely to wipe the opponent's board by turn 4 if need be. Devil's Play serves a dual purpose, working as a burn spell to a creature, but more often than not to the opponent (as you want to hit em with one big hit).

As with all of my decks, it's a budget deck first and foremost, likes and suggestions gladly welcomed!
