Gruul Monsters is an aggressive midrange deck. The game plan is to ramp into large creatures such as Stormbreath Dragon or to ramp to a huge Genesis Hydra or Polukranos, World Eater.

In the sideboard I have Arbor Colossus to deal with obnoxious flyers (eg. Stormbreath Dragon and Bow of Nylea + Hunt the Hunter against decks with big creatures. Polis Crusher is good against decks that use enchantment based Removal and Nylea's Disciple is good against Aggro. Finally I have Scuttling Doom Engine against Elspeth, Sun's Champion and Tormod's Crypt against any graveyard strategies.
