Ah, never mind. I didn't see the draw a card on death. That's amazing...

You could run Stab Wound instead of Curse of the Pierced Heart

May be worth having a look at these:

You're probably going to struggle for speed at 5cmc. Might be worth thinking about Sign in Blood, Night's Whisper and if you've got budget Phyrexian Arena. Death Cloud is cheap control and works with Guardian Idol and Mind Stone. Hope that helps.

I really like this deck. I love how you could just sit there with countermagic and walls and just curse your opponent to death. The only thing I might add would be a Pilgrim's Eye for the basic land search.

Thanks PenguinatorI had had this concept for awhile and finally decided to take action. It can usually life you out by turn 10 for sure. 8 if you're not unlucky.

No problem. I'm actually thinking about using this at FNM, and I'm super happy that this deck is really budget.

Something to consider for the sideboard, but the other curse that's backbreaking in some matchups is Curse of Exhaustion. You can't cast it without Curse of Misfortunes, but that's usually the case with Bloodletting too and Exhaustion plays really well into your countermagic plan.

Love the deck. I've been working on something similar in Standard, but moving it to Modern will be so much more liberating. I will be testing 2 cards that will leave Standard soon: - Sigarda's Aid (turns all of these Curses to Flash speed)- Open the Armory (search up what you need)I'll let you know how it goes!

I would not play Solemn Simulacrum...4 Mana for a 2/2 and a tapped land? No thanks.
