You say it's about controlling the early game and drawing, but most of your spells are way outside that goal. If you're looking for a tempo game, you need to change some things.

This deck needs some Treasure Cruise! You're also going to need some serious mana ramp. Maybe running the tron lands would be beneficial here. 4x Urza's Mine, 4x Urza's Tower, 4x Urza's Power Plant. Then you would drop Howling Mine or [[extraplanar lense]] for 4x Expedition Map to make sure you get the full urza set out every game. That'll make casting your extra turn spells much much easier, and much much faster. A singleton Tolaria West would fit nicely too as an extra fetcher of those lands. If you did that, this deck would run very similarly to Mono-U Tron, just with different win-cons. You can check out Mono-U Tron for some ideas if you like.

Thanks for the comments guys. This deck is suppose to have more of a janky win rather than be tempo or comboy. Ideally I would like to drop a mana doubler or card draw engine like howling mine by turn two or three then just ride the wave of extra turns all the way to an emrakul. As a fall back to keep me alive for those first few turns I have the remands (also for card draw) and the cryptics when I need to stall (tap their creatures etc.) And thanks for the Mono Blue tron suggestion, I will check it out.

Hey so good call saying to playtest it before commenting. I actually playtested this against one of my budget control decks and it won! Basically after pulling an Extraplanar Lens or two you can just keep taking turn after turn with all the mana and keep drawing tons of cards with Howling Mine and soon you can just play Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and win. Which is what happened lol

+1 very unique and well done making it actually doable.

My suggestion would be to DEFINITELY keep all 4 Extraplanar Lens but consider adding Treasure Cruise somewhere since it will be basically free because of all the instants and sorceries you send to the graveyard.

Hope you don't mind, but after play testing a few games I found this deck to be really fun. I made my own version with a lot of Mono-U Tron aspects added in like the Urza lands, obviously and x spells to take advantage of the extra mana like Repeal and Condescend, which also add extra tempo with draw and scry. Spell Burst for unlimited counterspelling once you have enough mana. Reliquary Tower because Howling Mines stack up fast when you're taking 10 turns in a row. Anyways, you can check it out if you like and let me know what you think: Time Walk.

@BMpatrol Thanks for the +1! I will be going over this deck with a fine comb later and treasure cruise is something I am strongly considering.

@Saljen: I am glad you like the deck. I will check yours out shortly. As for the reliquary tower suggestion I am hesitant to include that because I have the possibility to draw my entire deck and kill myself. My only way around this is do discard one of the two eldrazi and reset my deck. During the play test there were times when my bombs were both at the bottom, i died the turn after to my own howling mines. With Reliquary Tower I would be unable to do that. Alternately, I could just throw in Laboratory Maniac in the mainboard.

Jace Beleren or Dictate of Kruphix as another Howling Mine. Jace can also be a win condition.

Those Zendy lands are pretty, but if you're running Extraplanar lens, you should use Snow-Covered Islands so that if you come across anyone with Islands they don't also just run with mana everywhere.

Awesome suggestions. That is! I will be switching the islands for snow covered and I have added a dictate.

Instead of a Dictate of Kruphix, why not use Jace Beleren? He can also be a win condition, mill them out.

Also try adding in a Mikokoro, Center of the Sea. More card draw!

Thanks for the suggestions. Thoughts on Jace, Memory Adept over Jace Beleren? The way I see it Jace, Memory Adept mills faster and can provide with one sided card draw,

The problem with Jace, Memory Adept is that it costs 5 more. Jace Beleren was supposed to be a copy of Dictate of Kruphix, just that it gives you another way to win if you can't find an Eldrazi or it absorbs aggro.

I agree with lemmingllama. Jace, Memory Adept is really not a good planeswalker. Jace Beleren comes out on t3 and does your Howling Mine mechanic with a win-con built in. If you're running a Jace, Jace Beleren is the one to go with. Though personally, I don't think this deck wants more than 4 Howling Mine mechanics, since essentially every single one of your take a new turn cards are draw cards as well. Also, Urza's Mine, Urza's Tower, and Urza's Power Plant + Expedition Map makes this deck 10x more consistent and better. I know I mentioned it before, but those are all really cheap cards and they up the power level of this deck by quite a lot.

Solid points, thanks guys! I am going to try out the Urzas lands, seems like they have potential.

@graveyardwaltz, that card is awesome. I will try it as a 2 of for now and see what happens. That by itself is infinite turns. I cant decide if it is a win card or a win more card...

@happyman379: I am quite surprised that you have seen this type of deck as it is not very popular. But at the same time I am glad this type of deck is catching on!

Exiled_soul, by the looks of your standard and commander decks, I have a feeling that we go to the same LGS.

Looks crazy good! I like that Extraplanar Lens, but can you tell me why Panoptic Mirror is in the description, with a pretty high pedestal, and not in the deck anymore?

February 25, 2015 6:20 p.m.

Exiled_soul says... #25

@cmskinny: Thanks for catching that mistake. I was running it for awhile but cut it due to its high cost. In a more casual setting Panoptic Mirror is hilarious but I have been competing against decks like twin and bloom titan recently so its not realistic to run it.
