Maybeboard

My first attempt at making an interesting Chulane deck. I decided to focus on a human tribal theme with things, since that was something I hadn't seen before with Chulane decks. It seems to work reasonably well, and should be fun in a budget/casual environment.

My goal, budget-wise, was to minimize cards over $20. The top end (in terms of budget) cards here could actually reasonably be cut without affecting deck consistency much, probably getting the deck down to the 200s or 300s for total price.

There's some cards here that are definitely suboptimal, and some very strong cards that I left out. These choices were intentional. The best cards to add to the deck to really power things up are Village Bell-Ringer and Intruder Alarm. Both of these let the deck go infinite fairly quickly, with Intruder Alarm being the better of the two. I don't want this to be a "tutor out the combo and win" deck, though. I'd rather have more varied play patterns and win cons, so I've cut them. Temur Sabertooth is a similar exclusion. It's better than Kogla, Titan Ape in almost all ways that this deck cares about, namely in that it costs less and can bounce our non-humans. It goes infinite with Circle of Dreams Druid, Thousand-Year Elixir, and at least four other creatures. Assuming you've got mana for Chulane or can play him, you can use infinite ETBs to use him to draw your deck and win however you want. We don't want to be a combo deck, though, and Kogla cares about humans, so he gets the nod.
