UWR Control is one of the best control decks in the Modern format. Plays like a draw go deck and plays almost only on your opponents turn. The reasons to play it are the great removal package, efficient creatures, and a lot of 2 for 1's.

Removal-

Lightning Bolt- Probably the best card in modern. Three damage for one mana is way to efficient. It really can't be beat.

Lightning Helix- Basically Lightning Bolt copies 5 and 6. For an extra mana you gain a few life. Really efficient and great against the aggressive decks.

Path to Exile- Another fantastic removal spell. This takes out anything that Lightning Bolt can't. The price of a land can be a big one but can get rid of a lot of big threats.

Counter magic-

Mana Leak- The cheapest counter that can totally get rid of a spell. Bad in the late game so that's why there are only three.

Remand- A great card to have to gain Tempo advantage. This card can almost act as a time walk at times. Also good in the control style mirrors where you need to save your good spells.

Spell Snare - A good one mana counter spell that can catch you up if you are on the draw. Hits Tarmogoyf, Dark Confidant, [snapcaster mage]], Cranial Plating, Arcbound Ravager, you name it. Its solid but narrow and that is why there are only 2 copies.
