Oh hey I caught the eye of the Boros Master! I feel honored!
Sunforger I think Is a good tutor, albeit not cheap. I think you want it to find specific things, like a protection spell, a removal spell, or just something swingy like an Unbreakable Formation before combat. I think it has a home here, although I’m not sure what to cut yet.
Do you really like the basics over color fixing? In my testing I’ve found I often flood on one color or another, but maybe it just needs more ramp to hit colors vs bad dual lands.
As far as the ramp goes, I like the rocks but am hesitant to play the Bauble as it would eat the first two turns of a game that I’d want to setting up in, and I think it’s just worse than a rock late game for 3 mana investment essentially.
Gut Shot has been too good for me personally to warrant cutting yet, because it is such a powerful enabler and is free, but I can see cutting it as it is the worst free spell. I’ll have to test more and see if it’s bad more than good.
The heroic guys that only get bigger feel like a bit of a necessity to have early board presence and useful targetable creatures. In the same vein, the Strongarm Monk feels like the best finisher on paper, but I’ve considered adding Purphoros, God of the Forge , so that might be a better finisher. I like Goblinslide a LOT but thought it would be too mana intensive. If you’ve tested it let me know how it works for you.
Impact Resonance is weird for sure, but I like the premise. I’d be willing to test that over Fell the Mighty for now. Oblation feels nice, but looks mana intensive to draw two cards. It is Boros though, so maybe I’m devaluing that. Grenzo looks really nice, but other than milling my opponents I don’t quite see the use. Goad is neat, but against low creature decks it feels like a miss.
Thanks again for the comment, I’ll be sure to head over and like yours and get some suggestions from your list.

Heroic is so good in this deck. It gives you something to target and synergizes perfectly with Feather. It’s insane. They’re made for each other.

Sup guy, your mana curve looks pretty high. Take a gander at my brew, you might enjoy it. I don't have fancy looks like Sun's Champ over there, and my brew is certainly not cEDH (because the spikes can go the hell back to canadian highlander!) but she serves me well.

I'm not sure you can really build this cEDH but I'm sure someone will try. My curve is only 0.4 average higher than yours, and with 44 cards at CMC 2 or less, it seems fine. I have ramp, and yours looks more voltron than mine. Mine is all in on going wide, not so concerned with going big. Having a top end above CMC 3 just means I have more high impact spells.

Fair enough, to each their own. Hope your Feather deck allows you to soar over your opponents.

Control_Train I am currently building my own cEDH list. My list is trying to take advantage of Feathers unique abilities, while another list tries to take a more typical cEDH approach that will definitely be more successful in the short term.

Mirrorwing Dragon is great if you like the idea of someone casting Swords to Plowshares and exiling your entire board for 1 mana

Just thought I’d point out after this deck cured my penis that Fall of the Hammer has two targets and will not work with Zada, Hedron Grinder . It probably still works in the deck but not in the way you want it to. Anyway, thanks doctor.

Oh yea I guess that doesn’t work with Zada but it’s still good in the deck. Glad to help you with your sex life my mans.

What do you thing about Paradox Engine to untapp your mana rocks and cast the back bouncing spells on every turn?
April 14, 2019 2:23 p.m.
Matthew_the_greatest I have a list where that’s the goal of the deck basically.

It honestly seems win more to me but if you’re trying to eek out every point of competitiveness possible you probably need it. I’ve never had a situation where I felt like I needed it to win, and it’ll just make your turns take that much longer. I wouldn’t recommend it but to each their own. If you’re trying to win as many games as possible it probably will win you a few more percentage point of games. You’d want tutors for it but at that point why not just play a better Paradox Engine deck.

The reason to not play a better paradox engine deck is because there hasn't been a competitive Boros deck in the history of commander. Some people want to be in the fringe.

If you want to play Paradox Engine combo shenanigans then you need a different core than mine. More mana rocks, more tutors, other combo stuff. If that's what you want out of Feather then go gander at the competitive lists. Otherwise, I wouldn't suggest Engine because it's win more and takes a lot to make it work well. With only six mana rocks and one creature with a tap ability, it's certainly not worth it in my list.

i see, makes sense; gotta add that to my list ASAP :D

I’m currently trying to figure out how to fit Sunforger in and how much tutoring to play. It’s a tough balance. I am testing it though.

Cool deck but you need to be bolting one of your creatures with Intimidation Bolt to get Feather to trigger. It works nicely with a token producer but just wanted to point that out in case anyone missed it.

I see I am not the only one excited about Feather, and I am glad!
Let's discuss!
First I want to ask about Sunforger ... I've been debating it because it is more expensive than this deck wants and would just be value and not really a win-con, which is how I like to play my Sunforger. Your thoughts?
I like Braid of Fire and the Altar here... very clever!
Some Cuts: Stone Quarry, Path of Ancestry, Boros Guildgate, Ancient Amphitheater all for basics, Strongarm Monk, Gut Shot, most of the Heroic guys that only get bigger like Akroan Skyguard, better to focus on going wide and protecting your board.
I'd add: Wayfarer's Bauble , Fellwar Stone , Coldsteel Heart , just because you have a low curve doesn't mean you don't want ramp, Goblinslide , Oblation (hit your own token every turn for cards), Impact Resonance , and Grenzo, Havoc Raiser .
Finally, if you'd like to return the upvote and comment, here is my list:
