Maybeboard

Here is a little Game plan for my budget Rhys, the Redeemed!

Step One: Ramp and Draw cards! Get Rhys out turn one, but after that, from turns 2-4/5 you really want to ramp using cards like Cultivate and Three Visits. Set up your card draw engines using cards like Mentor of the Meek and Welcoming Vampire, providing easy, consistent Card Draw.

Step Two: Flood the Board with Your Tokens! (Turns 3-7) It is imperative to set up your token machines, with cards like Arasta of the Endless Web, Adeline, Resplendant Cathar, Felidar Retreat, and Many More! You want to have consistent token creation to abuse with Rhys's Second Ability so we can create a menacing board. During this time, you also want to start getting some nice value pieces on the board using cards like Seedborn Muse and Halo Fountain.

Step Three: Begin Closing the game Out! (8-10) Even though this is a more budget deck, we run two VERY powerful tutors. Eladamri's Call and Alter of Bone can help us close the game out by finding our Win Conditions like Craterhoof Behemoth and Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite. Rhy's Second ability works very well with other cards like Divine Visitation, turning our puny 1/1s into 4/4 angels which are both great blockers and attackers. Starnheim Unleashed and Entreat the Angels can also help with this, and Starnheim Unleashed can be Foretold on a prior turn to get an army of angels.

It is important to also run cards to deal with our opponents. Aura Mutation serves a double purpose; dealing with pesky enchantments out opponents control as well as getting an army of Saproling's. Hour Of Reckoning is almost always a board wipe which never affects our board, and Aura Shards can just wipe the board with our token army. We also run Grand Crescendo to protect our board and create some nice tokens, as well as Shalai, Voice of Plenty to protect from spot removal and to buff our board.

You will find that this deck is very resilient to both spot removal and boardwipes. Rhys is a token engine, and we have many ways to come back from boardwipes using enchantments and lands, which are less common subjects of removal and wipes, lieke with Castle Ardenvale, Adanto, the First Fort, and Sandwurm Convergence.

This is an overall fun deck for token enthusiasts and for people working withing the constraints of a budget.
