didn't think of Dissolve when i made this deck list as i don't have one of those, and the Mindstatic is there because it's the best single blue casting cost counter spell that i have at the moment

Have you considered a Door of Destinies ? It does some great work for buffing your elementals and putting the Young Pyromancer's tokens out of Electrickery Izzet Staticaster and Illness in the Ranks range. Personally I'd drop the Goblin Electromancer for a Nivix Guildmage and dump Mindstatic for either Dissolve or Counterflux - both are cheaper, definite, counter anything and offer something extra in the successful casting.
+1 for Elemental tribal though.

sadly i had to trade my Door of Destinies to get more essential stuff, and the reason those are Mindstatic versus a Dissolve or Counterflux is because the double blue in their casting cost made them dead cards more often then not where as Mindstatic did not. i didn't think of the Nivix Guildmage because i never played Izzet before i made this. thanks for the advice and the +1

I wouldn't add a Door of Destinies since you only have seven elementals.

Ahh, gotcha.
If you have any copies of Maze's End that will help with mana colour issues. I found it amazing for lowering the chances of a late game dead draw lands just by tutoring the four guildgates out of the deck, you'd have it even better since you're packing Ral Zarek and could do it twice per turn on the odd occasion that things just go your way. I've also noticed that you have a lot of land, if you could find something to drop for it Hammer of Purphoros would sit well in your deck. It gives all your creatures haste and turns late game land draw into more elemental fun.

the only issue with Counterflux is the double blue and the fact that my Goblin Electromancer can't make it cheaper vs a Mindstatic which only costs one blue and can be hit into by the electromancer. otherwise those would be Counterflux

I would suggest 2x Turn / Burn intead of the Inspiration , and put them in the sideboard, instead of two of the islands. I would also suggest 3x Mizzium Mortars instead of the Mizzium Skin . Not that Mizzium Skin is a bad card: just a bit of removal can be very useful, and the defensive measures slow down the game too much. But then again, I am an Izzet control player. However, have to say I really like the deck! Can't wait to see what you do with it next!

thanks for the suggestions, the Turn / Burn have definitely been lingering in my head was never sure what to drop though but the Inspiration does make sense moving into the sideboard. the Mizzium Skin however I am more hesitant to lose seeing as how it's the only protection that i have before turn 6 or 7 (and i say this with things like Hero's Downfall and other burn spells in mind). so i'll have to sit on it and think about it for a bit, but again thanks for the suggestions.

I really don't think there's enough blue devotion to make Master of Waves worth the mana.

maybe, but he's not there to produce tokens as much as buff the ones we already have on the field

also, Syncopate is generally better than Mindstatic in my opinion, being more versatile in the early game

@TopHatMan2442
actually on the note of Syncopate if i have an Goblin Electromancer out and i wanted to syncopate for one wouldn't i only have to pay one blue? that's how i believe it works but i have never used the two in combination before so i'm not sure.

4 mana for a +1 +1 boost to the at absolute best 3 tokens you have by the time MOW can come out at the earliest just isn't that great if you arent already packing devotion.
That is how Syncopate works with Goblin electro though.

okay that's how i figured it worked but i don't normally play blue so i wasn't sure. and as for master of waves i got an idea of what to put i for him, but i really want that +1/+1 boost tho so im not sure. ill have to sit on it until after FNM tomorrow.

Idk if you wanted MOW and pyro you'd need an entirely revamped monster core.CloudfinPyroMOWFrostburn weirdThrassa should go in
You basically need to do mono blue with a splash of red for pyro instead of the other way around.

@BashfulPanda that would be a good idea if i was trying to build a mono blue devotion and not a R/U elemental themed homebrew, no offense but please read the title and description.

Im just telling you its not a very effective idea.

Dissolve is better than Cancel in every way. Also, why Mindstatic ?
