It is but Golgari Charm is also beneficial if I need to cut off Bitterblossom or Dark Confidant. Having 5 MB answers to Blood Moon and the ability to zap a swarm of Lingering Souls tokens on the spot is quite useful. The good outweighs the bad IMO. Thanks for the +1!

Is there a reason for no Tasigur, the Golden Fang, Murderous Cut or Phyrexian Obliterator? Also, +1 and maybe 1-2 Surgical Extraction in the side for against combo after you destroy a combo piece.

APPLE01DOJ says... #3

They were cut in favor of Dark Confidant

No space for Surgical Extraction/Extirpate

I like the idea! I don't play modern so I don't have any suggestions. Sorry!

3 things

  • 1- Dryad Arbor is used as like, an 'emergency blocker' or enemy lil fodder right? Just curious

  • 2-how can you like the promo Scavenging Ooze? Haha, not to be rude I just don't:p

  • 3- sick Verdant Catacombs! Is it tournament legal?

  1. yes, yes & also if I get a Sword online and have no one to wield it.

Love Promo ScOoze. Don't like the M14 version at all haha.

Yes it is. People always ask to look at it when they see me playing this deck too.

I have all The Bobs even though they're not pictured, just waiting on Unhinged lands before I update the pic. Going to upgrade the Treetop Villages to the FNM promos next.

Oh true! The sword is pretty cool

Nahh I like how the m14 looks like it's sucking up something

Cool! Yea i would too

Unhinged and unglued lands are pretty cool and not as mainstream as zendikar (plzplzplzplzplzplz print full arts in bfz)

I'm working on jund myself. I was waiting for a goyf on pucatrade but it's definitely worth it to get the bulk of the maindeck. How'd you get your goyfs?

So which promo tree top?

July 29, 2015 10:24 p.m.

SpartanCEL says... #10

Nvm. 2 different promos but only 1 fnm

Bought my Goyfs off eBay between 130-160 each. Not too bad. I wanted all MM1 printings otherwise could have scooped some cheaper.

You can play without Goyf but Liliana of the Veil is the most crucial piece of the deck IMO.

I'm not as much of a fan of Jund or Junk as I am Rock but I'd like to see Domri Rade being ran in Jund again.

Not bad at all. I do have 3 lils:p may need a 4th I duno.

Domri Rade is definently interesting. But I think it's hindered by the same thing Narset Transcendent is. Situational card draw. If either of them always drew cards (or did something else like Keranos, God of Storms or jtms which see some play) I would definitely consider. I also run like 14 creatures so it'd take a different build from the control one that's popular atm

What about Fracturing Gust over Creeping Corrosion, or at least some number of? It functions as an extra Back to Nature so it is a little more versatile, and being instant speed you can hit their activated man lands, while the life provides a great cushion even though you probably wouldn't need it.

I ran Fracturing Gust for a brief stint over a year ago and didn't care for it. The difference between 4 mana and 5 mana is huge.

August 8, 2015 9:50 p.m.

It is a huge difference, personally I have only used Fracturing Gust in builds with mana dorks.

Lots of life loss, so you've probably been asked this before, but why no Kitchen Finks?

APPLE01DOJ says... #17

I like Finks. Not really sure it's needed though.

I think Finks for the Burn matchup would be really good.

I have nothing to say really, but great deck!!! +1

Kitchen Finks is a great card, but not relevant with this deck.

October 6, 2015 7:58 p.m.

Why is the Tasigoyf not in mainboard? It's VERY good. Or his fish friend Gurmag Angler. He eats Rhinos all day as snackages.

I want to MB Tasigur, the Golden Fang I agree his card advantage is great to help you pull ahead but this deck never wants to eat 6 to the face.

Sometimes I'm tempted to swap Bitterblossom for Courser of Kruphix and then this deck could handle 1-2 Tasigur, the Golden Fang in place of a Scavenging Ooze. Then I play a game and Bitterblossom really pulls threw.

DMPv01 says... #25

You could cut a Thoughtseize/Inquisition, move Thrun to sideboard, and add 2 Coursers while keeping your Bitterblossoms and then add a singleton Tasigur. That's personal preference though. I don't really like running more than 5-6 disruption spells. As-is though it looks like a blast to play.
