Fiery Temper and Alms of the Vein can be as good at burning as lightning bolt and if we can enable them with good discard cards. Filling our deck with solid cycling and discard enablers like collective defiance, tormenting voices, and cryptbreaker lets us build up board or card advantage while letting us cast our burn spells cheap, and shreds of sanity let us recur and burn again, plus stack 2-3 spell casts for thermo-alchemist and bedlam reveler.
