I think I may add him into the sideboard, he is very good against heavy removal and some other situations. However, at the moment my creature base is working very well for me, so I'll test him out in the sideboard. Thanks!

I don't see the point in Marsh Flats when you have no landfall and no plains?

It thins out my land, my mana curve is very low, so I never really want to get more than 4 or 5 lands a game. so it helps ensure that I don't top deck land, hopefully anyway.

It's a good skeleton to work with, I and assume cost is a factor.
As far as hand disruption, I would recommend 4x Thoughtseize 2x Inquisition of Kozilek
Also, I would recommend trying to work maybe three Phyrexian Arena s into the main deck. Draw extra cards is always good for control.
I feel the biggest thing you need work on though is your sideboard. I feel it should look a little more like this.3x Ghost Quarter , 2x Extirpate , 2x Mutilate , 3x Blood Seeker , 2x Duress , 3x ???
Ghost Quarter : Urza Tron is a thing. Your match-up against it is pretty good naturally. But when it goes off. Boy does it go off. This is help make sure it doesn't go off. Destroy one of their tron lands and use one of your extraction effects to get the rest and make sure they can't assemble all the lands.
Extirpate : It's an extra extraction effect. For when you just want to rip someones deck apart.
Blood Seeker : With Beck now in the format, combo elves and affinity will soon be seeing a lot of play, and it will be potent. Blood Seeker makes playing god awful amounts of creatures unappealing.
Duress : More hand disruption. Really good in the control match-up.
Anyway, sorry for the long post. I'm just a big fan of mono black control. I hope my input can/has helped.

Thanks very much! When I get a chance I will make some modifications. I am currently trying to acquire Thoughtseize
s (and Dark Confidant
s) and when I do they are definitely going in. However, I didn't initially consider Phyrexian Arena
; that will be going in. As far as the sideboard, With the exception of Witchbane Orb
(which is necessary against some decks I play) and Mutilate
, I'm not particularly attached to anything in it so I will be making a decent amount of those changes. Thanks again!

Nice deck, well polished. Do you ever find yourself with too much creature removal?
I've got a mono-black control deck, but it's a lot less expensive, and probably inferior :)

Thanks! I haven't yet had a problem with the amount of removal, however, that is probably a product of the group of people I play with. The side board helps against burn decks very well, which is my main concern in dealing with non-creature based decks at the moment.

Ummm is Inquisition of Kozilek your only turn 1 option? Surgical Extraction seems useless on turn 1.
That's the only glaring flaw I see. Otherwise, nice looking deck.

Thanks. For now it is, as I cant figure out any other one drops that would fit, Any suggestions?
Although, I must note so far the deck has been working well. Being a control deck I'm not completely worried about not playing something turn one, although I will on occasion mulligan down to six in hopes of getting an inquisition.

I have a similar deck Sheoldred, Whispering One -†-BLΔCK-†- SΔCR‡F‡C3
Builds the beetles as well, but uses Swarmyard to keep them alive. Although that's really an extra side effect, because Sheoldred, Whispering One is the <3 of the deck.

Thanks! I like swarmyard a lot, since the beetles do become targets quickly.

Desecration Demon is pretty good but try out Abyssal Persecutor. At first you probably notice his large drawback but with 14 cards in the deck that allows you to sacrifice him when needed it should not be as big of a problem. With Lingering Souls running around as is Desecration Demon may be harder to get though for that damage when needed. Try a 2 and 2 split and see what works more often. I like the mono black control elements, good stuff.
