Tried to slim down Mardu Midrange into a more aggressive build utilizing Dark Confidant as a card advantage engine. I really like the way this deck can stick a Young Pyromancer or Pack Rat, then back it with the best removal and hand disruption in magic. It can make a surprising number of tokens and Sorin, Solemn Visitor/Vault of the Archangel allow those tokens to gain lots of life to offset Dark Confidant.

Comparing this deck to Jund/Junk: The big cards I lose out on playing are Tarmogoyf, Siege Rhino, and Scavenging Ooze. This means my clock is lowered considerably compared to the Tier 1 decks. That's the main downside, but I also don't plan on paying $$ for goyf quite yet. The upside is that I mesh together some of the best removal from both decks ( Path to exhile , Lightning Bolt, Terminate, Lightning Helix), some of the most efficient spells (Kolaghan's Command, Lingering Souls, Liliana of the Veil), and the awesome turn-1 discard package (Inquisition of Kozilek, Thoughtseize). The beauty of cutting Siege Rhino/not playing Abzan is that my curve is low enough to efficiently utilize Dark Confidant. Bob helps me fuel a different kind of clock in Pack Rat and Young Pyromancer - both cards can benefit from the extra card advantage, even if I'm drawing late-game Inquisitions!
