I dig it. I play marath as well, and Pandemonium can get rough when you start casting marath for 7+ mana. With 2 counter doublers I've been able to deal upwards of 28 damage with marath, then turn the counters into burn for the win.

Hi thirtydirtybirds thanks for the comments, I actually run a better version (in my mind) of pandemonium (warstorm surge). It may be a little more expensive but it doesn't let your opponents use the ability. I would recommend it over pandemonium. I also realised that I have to update the deck list, its changed a little bit. With Marath I've been able to deal over 80 damage so I know the damage output is there :) (really it should be possible to deal infinite damage). I had a look at your Marath deck too, its a bit different but there are a couple things I would recommend taking out if you were wanting to make the deck more effective. Up to you but i can leave a comment on your page.

Sure, I'm always open to constructive criticism. I haven't updated that deck in a while, it's quite different. I also use Warstorm Surge but pandemonium gets hated out less because it's communal (at least in my play group). I'll update my marath deck when I get a chance to sit down and do it this week. Long live Marath!!

I have a Marath deck that is a very different beast, but I am very happy with my mana base. Here it is if you want to check it out:http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/i-no-longer-poop-counters/

Off the top of my head: I do not think that you need man-lands with your token generation. IMO the extra body to attack with is not worth the lands coming in tapped. I would get rid of Treetop Village , even if it was just for a forest. I do not see anything in your deck that screams Thespian's Stage target, so I would get rid of it. Not a huge fan of the fetch land unless you have dual lands to fetch which I only see Sacred Foundry , also Exotic Orchard is just too unpredictable.

I would say:
Exotic Orchard out for Homeward Path
Krosan Verge > Evolving Wilds
Treetop Village > Terramorphic Expanse
Thespian's Stage > Contested Cliffs

Also Vivid Grove and Vivid Crag synergize very well with Reflecting Pool . Skarrg, the Rage Pits are worth looking into as well as Boros Garrison , Selesnya Sanctuary and the other 2fer lands, just tap a basic land, play the 2fer and return the basic to your hand.

Oh and get a Domri Rade , IMO. If they are crazy enough to let you pop him it is GG and he has dropped in price to $12ish.

Your deck is definitely different, thanks for the comments. I typically play in a group setting so Exotic Orchard and Thespian's Stage are good lands as I can normally benefit from. For Krosan Verge I have all of the dual lands in there. Treetop can probably come out for something, Skarrg looks pretty good. Boros Garrison and Selesnya Sanctuary are slow though they can easily set you back a turn. Domri Rade , is so so like you said you have to pop is ult, which never happens in group scenarios. How do you find Gisela, Blade of Goldnight i was considering her for marath but not sure?

Gah. I have it in my head that thespian stage is until EoT and always have to remind myself it is not. Yea lots more value there.

Fetch lands: sorry you are right. Posting from my phone and missed them.

Gisela is good when she sticks around. She is great if I can cast her before an insurgence or before a Titanic Ult. But she is like Domri... rarely last long enough to take advantage of.

There is not much land destruction in my meta so the 2fer lands do not slow me down any more than any others that enter tapped

haha all good :). yeah typically in my meta there is a lot of removal, so if anything good comes out it is gone pretty quick so i have to be really careful when I want to play something that may be seen as a threat.

Are you trying to move away from infinite combos? If not I can not recommend Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Restoration Angel enough, it turns Tooth and Nail into an instant win if it is not countered. Regardless of the combo, Kiki by himself synergizes so well Avenger, Craterhoof, and Kalonian Hydra (OMG, quadrupling counters each round is sooooo much fun) that you might wat to think about him.

Oh and I -so- need to cut something to get Dosan in my deck.

Sorry for the late reply, no not particularly, I have a few in here. I will definitely consider kiki-jiki (although he is the sort of card that easily gets hated out XD). Dosan is a definite must though stop those pesky blue players from countering your things. He has saved me on numerous occasions.

hey jball30 i love the decklist and all explanations and thoughts for your card choices. i think my favorite choices are:Fling, Thermopod, and Ogre Battledriver.

i do have a couple suggestions.

LANDS

right now you are running a combined total of 17 basic lands in this deck. while there is nothing wrong with that i think there could be some inclusions that would help smooth your colors to ensure a turn 2/3 marath and keep the pressure coming.

3xbouncelands-Boros Garrison, Selesnya Sanctuary, Gruul Turf i play these in every two-three color deck i have. they are a little slow but very much worth it.also lets you reset Spinerock Knoll, Windbrisk Heightsand Mosswort Bridge

Counters for marath and the team-Gavony Township, Oran-Rief, the Vastwood, Opal Palacethese lands help pump the team and makes sure marath comes back even stronger than he should have.

3xscrylands/3xpainlands-ex:Temple of Abandon/Battlefield Forge more multicolored options.

Jungle Shrine

any fetches-ex:Evolving Wilds,Naya Panorama,Wooded Foothills- these can help with deck thinning and getting correct colors. and a great engine with sun titan

Ramp

i like to have a lot of turn 2 ramp so that marath can always come out on three and have 1 mana open for one of marath's abilities.Sakura-Tribe Elder,Farseek,Bloom Tender,Ordeal of Nylea(more of a turn 4 but still really good on marath)

DrawHarmonize,Momentous Fall,Garruk, Primal Hunter, Shamanic Revelation-usually with marath and friends out these cards can refill your hand and make sure you have the resources you need to finish the game strong.

Perhaps Act of Treason to go along with Fling? It's always fun to first attack your foe with their own creature, and then sacrificing it to inflict further pain.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Act of treason could be an interesting concept of it could be recurrable (DarthSpader).

Haha that's a lot of suggestions there unBillieveable. But I will admit figuring out lands is often the worst part. Some of the ramp cards I could definitely use and some of the counter cards are good. Glad you found some benefits too!

Mana Rocks!

Coalition Relic and Darksteel Ingot are a must. If you need colorless mana Mana Vault and Mana Crypt are also available.

I have a typical rule with mana rocks and decks with green. Typically you should have enough land ramp to only need the bare minimum, so sol ring gilded lotus and sometimes chromatic lantern. Otherwise you have things like birds etc for other mana ramp

Omnath, Locus of Rage: Make elemental tokens on landfall, make lots of 1/1 elemental tokens with Marath, sac effect/board wipe, massive damage amounts.

Beastmaster Ascension: Make lots of little 1/1 tokens with Marath, swing with 7 of them, and all your creatures get +5/+5.

Xenagos, God of Revels: Give a big stompy haste and let it swing for double damage? Sign me up.

Why not incorporate the new BFZ duals Canopy Vista and Cinder Glade. They give you two more targets for Krosan Verge. I'd also recommend the matching fetches Windswept Heath and Wooded Foothills and if you can afford it or play with a proxy friendly group Arid Mesa Grasslands and Mountain Valley are also decent fetches. Copperline Gorge, Fire-Lit Thicket, Jungle Shrine,Raging Ravine,Razorverge Thicket, Riftstone Portal, Rith's Grove, Stirring Wildwood, Nantuko Monastery are some good additional thoughts. Also if you are in a proxy friendly group the original duals in your colors are good choices: Plateau, Savannah, and Taiga.

Thanks for the comments guys BobFromAccounting I think the reason for not adding the new omnath is simply because I have another deck where he is the commander! Beast master ascension I am always iffy about like I know it produces an amazing anthem effect but the way I found I play marath I don't typically swarm the field. When I first started playing marath I had it in the deck and its play time was average. Xenagos on the other hand is a wrecking machine I actually added him into the deck just before you commented haha (I need to update the deck lost a couple of things have changed)

PandaJohn71 wow thanks for all the suggestions man. Gives me a lot to work with. Not sure why I always find lands the worst part to construct and you've give me some awesome suggestions that I will be including luckily I do play with a group that allow proxies for things that are ridiculously expensive like dials etc

Again thanks for the suggestions and +1 and I'll make sure to update asap!
