I would drop 2 lands. 24 lands is a good number for this deck. I would drop Ajani Steadfast. Sorin, Solemn Visitor makes him obsolete. I would drop Bile Blight from the main deck. Definitely sideboard worthy. I would consider adding Warden of the First Tree. I hope my suggestions helped. Good Luck!

I agree with Fantastic_Mr_King with his suggestions. If you do what he suggested then your deck will pretty much be the one that one of the pros just used at the Miami PDQ and did very very well with. Pretty much the only difference would be that he didn't use sorin lol

Me personally I would throw in a few different cards. give the deck more flexibility. Multiples is good but too many becomes predictable. Just my way of thinking.

Ive always been a fan of Setessan Tactics, since you have tough creatures (Fleecemane Lion, Siege Rhino, Anafenza, the Foremost) they are great for fighting others, and if you have enough mana, you can use Rakshasa Deathdealer aswell! Interesting but good deck, its pretty unique!

I'd throw a Whip of Erebos into the main since the current standard meta in fairly creature saturated and your light on creatures and with that in mind i would drop the Wingmate Roc for Dromoka, the Eternal. She just makes your creatures a little more difficult to deal with as far as combat goes. and i don't know what i'd drop for Thoughtseize but i would defintely run a 4 of, Thoughtseize is just too good to pass up.

Nice deck and nice descriptions! Looked to to my dictionary and I saw Abzan Charm lol.

Have you seen the DTK spoilers? You might wanna look for cards there.

Also, how did you make your text really large? I'd really appreciate it if you help me about that.

Overall, this deck is amazing! +1 from me bud.

SiegeRhiNOOO: How i made the text large? Simple!

Use the h1 tag, (Just put h1 in the <>'s! ) and replace the number 1, with any number up to 5! Just remember, that the larger the number, the smaller the text!

So for example:

h1 Welcome! /h1

Becomes

Welcome!

if you want any ideas, my deck, What to do with a Graveyard Full of Junk, could be of some assistance.

Needs more cats.

I am not kidding.

Brimaz, King of Oreskos would be pretty good in this deck. Temur Sabertooth is meh.

Anyway, nice deck. Are you going for aggro or midrange? Just curious.

Suggestions for sideboard

Self-Inflicted Wound

Surge of Righteousness

Display of Dominance

Hunt the Hunter

Back to Nature

Dark Betrayal

Drown in Sorrow

Hope these help.

6tennis: So far, im not sure. From what i have playtested so far, it seems to be able to handle both, although none done perfectly. It fits great in being able to quickly adapt into one or the other playstyle, but what it lacks is the advantage just playing one of them brings.

As far as Brimaz, King of Oreskos goes, im actually really interested in running them, although im not sure on what to take out to make room for em. Any suggestions on how many to add, and what to remove?

And thanks for all the Sideboard suggestions!

I'd put in 3. 4's too much, as they become less and less threatening throughout the game, but 2 is too little, because we want to use Brimaz to maximize creature efficiency (i.e. vigilance). Bask in the glory of the Cat tribe!

Also, to help with your strategy problem, here's a suggestion that's really stupid, but I'm gonna put it here anyway. Have you ever considered a transformative sideboard? Like, half of your sideboard could be put in to make the deck more aggro, and the other half could be for midrange. That way, you can adjust your strategy based on the opponent.

6tennis: I have thought of that, actually. ( I even used it in my temur deck! ). Although im not sure it would work here. Both aggro and midrange have similar strategies, its just that midrange wants to build up into their big dudes, while aggro prefers to dump their hand onto the board and smash the opponent asap. A transformative sideboard here, while not impossible, is probably not that good of a choice. It'd definiatly work for decks like Mardu/Temur, however!

Now the question is, what to remove for the Brimaz's? Theres no real " Weak Link " In the deck from what i have noticed, they all have some kind of time to shine. It's gonna be a hard one, lol

I have also been thinking of Herald of Torment For a while. Its always fun with a 3 mana 3/3 flyer to counter out the pesky Mantis Rider's, aswell as bestowing him on a rhino is just pubstomp like you wouldnt belive. Yet again, got no idea what to switch him out for though.

That is literally the wombo combo there m80. Nothing they can do about Herald of Torment + Siege Rhino because Silence the Believers is irrelevant. A 7/8 trampling flying hater can really do damage, and it can help you curve out better as it can fill a 3 drop, or it can take the place of a 5 drop.

ceji3: I know, right?! I really want to try it out at some point, but i got no clue on where to fit them in.

to be honest, i think whip should be a sideboard card against midrange and control. It isn't that great main, when you should just throw down threats.

I'd mainboard the hero's downfalls also add are least one more whip if you're going to use it.

delusiions: Uhm... The downfalls are already mainboard.

I would suggest Daghatar the Adamant. If your Warden or any of your bolstered creatures (from Dromoka) get a ton of counters, you can move those around to make your flyers bigger or set up for the next Dromoka bolster.

I decided I needed to test my mono red deck against an Abzan list to see if the deck could handle things like siege rhino. I thought your deck looked like a solid list so I used it to playtest. It did not disappoint.very solid, nice work!

March 26, 2015 11:26 p.m.

Kralug says... #24

gogogonzo: Thank you! Means alot that you'd consider my list worthy of testing with! I have to say though, Mono R is sort of a hit and miss deck with me. I have only played against it once before with this deck, and the usual result was if the game goes to turn 4-5, i can start swinging it in my direction. If i dont manage to stabilize by then, im usually in the deep.
