Heroes' Podium Seems nice, but since the deck is rather combo oriented, I rarely want to just flood the board with my legendaries. Plus Sisay's ability tutors for no mana, hits even non creatures and searches the whole deck. The real issue is tutoring up non-legendary combo pieces.

Time of Need kinda has the same problem. Its nice, but Eladamri's Call and Survival of the Fittest are better and I think the tutor count at the moment is fine, if not a little high. Plus I'm not really sure what I'd cut for another tutor.

Any suggestions as for what I should cut from the deck? This is always the hardest part for me so I always end up with a huge list of cards I want to find room for or I cut some lands out and then the whole deck suffers.

Seedborn Muse is really good with Hokori, Dust Drinker especially when you can Tooth and Nail for both of them AND it lets you tutor an extra time for each other player in the game.

Sisay makes the three kaldra pieces very easy to assemble ( Sword of Kaldra Helm of Kaldra Shield of Kaldra) and a 9/9 first strike trample haste indestructible pseudo-vigilant exiling guy is really hard to deal with.

check out my deck Captain Sisay Slays. if you want some other ideas to consider

Salad_Thunder So glad you like it! Sisay is such a fun deck to build because you can play some of the less consistent but good cards simply because she makes them consistent and that's what I love.

seebz

Seedborn Muse does seem like another great card to help lockdown the board for everyone but me. Any suggestion for what I could cut?

The Kaldra pieces are one of those things that while I think they're cool and helpful, they're just far too slow to be worth it. To play and activate all 3 pieces, it'll cost 12 mana and be accomplished usually over 3 turns. For that amount of mana I could easily setup up one of my hardlock combos or Mindslaver lock one person. I really wanted to add them in, but they got cut a while back for things that are more universally useful.

I'll make sure to check out your deck though for some ideas :)

You are already running Elesh, Kamahl, Living Plane, Crop Rotation and 6 Sac Lands... Im thinking Titania, Protector of Argoth definitely could be a nice fit here.

In fact I like the idea so much I think I need to build Sisay with her in it now too! She just plays so nice with Sisay and Karametra, God of Harvests. Yeah this is happening...

LittleBlueHero I do love Titania. In fact, I'd considered adding her, and a bunch more land saccing effects to make her the wincon. In the end I decided that this would be a more combo oriented deck(as the people I play with are usually combo) and she didn't make the cut. That said, I'm still working on a more token oriented deck involving Sisay since she just goes crazy with all the legendary token producers/enablers. Gaea's Cradle is already good here, it'd be amazing if I went with a token theme.

Would love to see your build though when its finished :)

Some of my friends don't really like games where you combo out or lock down the board so I need to make a more friendly version to use, and I think it'll probably be centered around tokens or just fun legendaries.

Hey I hear ya,

My group is still just getting into EDH and I have had to build "less than perfect" decks (by my standards) because I know you aren't getting anyone into a format by beating them up, comboing out and locking them out.

I try and make fun decks using cards I probably never would just for the sheer shock value of it. I have a mono Green Titania right now too that needs tweaking post Dragons. I will share them both when I get them together :)

AwesomeName How fitting given your username :D

I was really surprised this name wasn't taken, usually I think of a clever or funny deck name and its already been done to death just on Tappedout T_T

Sisay is definitely an interesting choice for a general. I think that there are definitely a lot of ways to abuse her ability. Course, this isn't really a friendly deck, but it does loophole the commander ruleset and legend rule in a way that's pretty dangerous. Could be very powerful.

Have you considered going up to three colors? That would open up a lot more legendary stuff for you to fetch with Sisay.

While I would love to have an extra color to access(as if making cuts wasn't hard enough lol), since this is commander it'd be impossible to splash another color without changing out Sisay as my commander. I don't think that'd be the best plan as the deck's consistency comes from people able to reliably play Sisay early and often. If she's just another card in the 99, it becomes a lot harder to build a deck with this many synergy reliant legendary cards. Two color EDH deck IMO are the perfect mix between versatile but also consistent when it comes to mana. Even if I could take this deck and amp it up to a 3 color deck, I'd lose consistency by not always having access to Sisay, but also lose consistency in the mana base unless I wanted to spend another several hundred dollars on lands.

Day of Destiny is a good card to consider for boosting your legendary creatures. Plus the fact that it's fetchable kind of makes it a win win, especially since it boosts your legendary lands that are turned into creatures- so what, it's a win win win?

June 6, 2015 4:04 p.m.

Necrotize says... #13

@Autumnstar00 Day of Destiny is one of those cards I consider fun, but not entirely useful. When I make a more casual friendly version of this deck, it will probably find a place, but as it stands, getting a worse version of Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite for 3 less mana doesn't seem like it will help contribute to the consistency. Especially since unlike Elesh, it can't be comboed with Living Plane to knock out everyone's land, just make mine slightly bigger for attacks, which again, Elesh Norn does it better. Since this is a toolbox deck, having redundancy in some things is great, in others not so much.

Thanks for the suggestions though, I'll definitely want that in the other deck I'm making.

Great deck: +1

You inspired me to make a similar deck myself.

June 9, 2015 4:20 a.m.

Reki, the History of Kamigawa works well with Sisay when you're strapped for resources and/or having to deal with multiple problems.

On an unrelated note- I love that you found a card with an actual reference to Sisay's mother and put it in the sideboard. That's hilarious.

@MartialArt Thanks a bunch :) I'd love to see your deck when its finished.

LittleSallyDigby I've tried Reki a few times. In theory he seems like a great option, but in practice it usually means delaying all my plans another turn to get him into play. I'd much rather get Mikokoro, Center of the Sea or Selvala, Explorer Returned if I desperately need card draw, but this is rarely the case. The safest place for my legendaries when I'm not using them is in my deck, so going overboard with drawing anytime other than when I'm using Myojin of Life's Web's ability leaves me more vulnerable than I'd like.

And I'm glad someone noticed Peacekeeper, I thought it was pretty funny and convenient that a card I needed to combat faster aggro decks was related to Sisay. If only she was legendary, then she'd be mainboarded straight away.

Necrotize - Good points! Thanks for sharing.

On Peacekeeper: Would you say that she's all you want, when you're waiting for so long? :P

I have a Shiny Sisay deck of my own and it is so fun to play win or lose.

Illusionist's Bracers lets you tutor two cards per turn.Arashi, the Sky Asunder is tutorable instant speed hate for fliers.Karametra, God of Harvests is really good ramp and can become a heavy hitter later.Bow of Nylea is a tutorable alternative to Mistveil Plains to get your Mindslaver lock going.Karn, Silver Golem can make equipment fall off.Michiko Konda, Truth Seeker ruins decks like Nekusar

June 15, 2015 4:15 p.m.

Necrotize says... #20

Hmmm those are all interesting choices. Bracers seems a little slow, as does Karametra since she doesn't directly contribute to the combo plan. Arashi is in the sideboard to fetch with Living Wish since I was struggling to cut things and he seemed a little too situational, even for the toolbox. I had originally wanted Bow of Nylea in here, but the redundancy seemed ineffective. With all the land tutors and fetches, Mistveil Plains is not hard to get.

As for Karn and Michiko, those are very cool cards that I had not considered for that purpose. I suppose it'll be very meta based so I might just have those cards in the maybeboard to switch in when I'm fighting Nekusar or a voltron commander. I don't have a consistent playgroup at the moment, so mainboarding specific hate cards seems a little premature, but I really love their interactions with problem commanders. Thanks a bunch :)

At first I only had Karametra and Bow in to get me more mana with Serra's Sanctum, but I was amazed at how quickly Karametra can pay for herself. She also lets me get the plains I need for Emeria, The Sky Ruin. I see now you're running the off-color fetches too.

My playgroup doesn't use sideboards for EDH, so I have to main all my tools. :D

I've actually been considering cutting Mangara (and Glissa from my list) because by the time I need them, it's usually too late. I might try Thousand-Year Elixir a bit before I make that decision.

Its not "technically" a sideboard, but rather a wish board :P

As I said earlier, I don't have a static playgroup so I just figured I'd try to make this as competitive as possible yet still within my budget/using cards I already have. So since I'm trying to make it competitive I figured I might as well take advantage of my sideboard and have sort of a toolbox within a toolbox thanks to Living Wish. Mangara is one of the cards I'm hesitant about keeping around, but she is a nice "answer all" kind of card that can deal with the occasional Darksteel Forge or a stolen Avacyn.

I strongly recommend the 1000 year Elixir though, playing it on turn 2/3 then using Sisay as soon as she comes down, twice a turn is just crazy card advantage. Also makes Mangara that much better since you can put her ability on the stack twice and 2 for 1 your opponent. The other interactions will at most speed you up by a turn and at worst give you another Sisay activation.

June 16, 2015 3:34 p.m.

She isn't on the site yet but I just want to point out the awesome interaction between the new Nissa, Vastwood Seer/Nissa Sage Animist coming out it Origins and Legendary decks.

She is searchable as a legend and nets you a land when she hits. Then much like Tolsimir Wolfblood her flipped version can get you a legendary 4/4 token. But unlike Tolsimir, she can also provide card advantage and continue to ramp.

She will probably be one of the first card I search for if I can get Sisay out early enough. Hope the new Gideon offers us just as much.

June 16, 2015 3:52 p.m.

Necrotize says... #24

Hmm that is interesting and does solve the decks problem of tending to stall on mana once it reaches Sisay. While not an issue in itself, if I can't get off the first one or two Sisay activations, mana becomes extremely strained. I'll definitely give her a test run. I hope the new Gideon has some similarities to his other planeswalker variations. An tutorable, indestructible beater with removal packed in seems like it'd fit right in.
