I've actually had to take a business trip to Japan that was all very last minute, so it will be a couple of weeks before I get to try the deck out.

Your going to Japan, the place that developed playing children card games to solve problems. If anime has taught me anything you should be able to find someone with really pointy hair and be able to challenge them to a card game.

Okay got the bad joke out of my system. Hope your trip goes well.

Yes, everyone here has pointy hair, glasses, and a Pokeball strapped to their belt.

On a less silly note I've decided to put Devour in Flames in the Sideboard, coz I hate Planeswalkers.

Not to seem brash or rude, but I have a lot of suggestions (love the deck idea btw, but since I really like your idea and wanna see it at it's peak, I'm gonna be brutally honest with you):

A-are you seriously not running Thalia's Lieutenant, Lantern Scout, or Firemantle Mage? D U D E, Rally triggers for insane lifegain and evasion en-masse WITHOUT relying on Odric, Lunarch Marshal and Human perma-anthems? What's not to love!? (See: Eerie Interlude for even more saucy team-saving and destructive shenanigans for flickering key pieces to help the rest of your team or, if you're going all-in on allies [though it's not worth it as it compromises a lot of efficiency for such a tiny pay off], there's Chasm Guide to let those utility guys crack in too if you can't handle holding back on it).

Militant Inquisitor is nowhere near as useful or powerful as those guys, plus Stone Haven Outfitter covers your Equipment buff synergy, though I do see a bit of potential in Weapons Trainer, though not as a 4-of alongside Knight of the White Orchid and Consul's Lieutenant (your 2-drop slots are extremely clogged up- especially with 24 lands). For additional Equipment synergy and some saucy built-in removal, try Avacynian Missionaries  Flip.

On top of this, and going in with the Human tribal synergy and artifacts, Pia and Kiran Nalaar is just BEGGING to live in this deck! Reach for board-stalls, flyer tokens, you can't go wrong!

As for actual Equipments, go crazy on Captain's Claws- 4 in immediately, p l e a s e. It does everything you could want with the deck- even getting Menace online with Firemantle Mage before they can start blocking! Pitch the Stormrider Rig by the way, they're just.. eh. Cheeky, but they don't advance anything. Bone Saw is a much faster and aggressive alternative. At a cursory glance, Haunted Cloak isn't too bad, and Harvest Hand becoming Scrounged Scythe  Flip is just dripping with absolute, synergistic V A L U E! Skeleton Key ain't too bad for sneaking in some shots to trigger Consul's Lieutenant's Renown ability, granting battle anthems and looting to boot!

For late-game reach, Ghirapur AEther Grid as a one-of is very acceptable and will give your artifacts some delicious value, too; or it can function to pick off problem blockers/early attackers the turn it drops with a few Equipments dropping before it for instant payback!

Now, moving onto sideboard. Overhaul it. Please, it's killing me.

3-ish Rending Volleys to kill tons of major players in UW Humans/Mid/Control, BW Midrange/Control, etc etc. Surge of Righteousness isn't a bad as a couple to knock our aggressive B/R Madness, Mono-red, etc. Not to forget Silkwrap, an absolute all-star, and Stasis Snare for knocking out that brutal Ormendahl, Profane Prince (among tons of others cough Archangel Avacyn  Flip cough)).

Y'know I do kinda like those Angelic Purges though. Keep a few of those around man. Radiant Flames is there too, but bump it down to 2 only, and pop a few Shambling Vents or Caves of Koilos to get the extremely important extra point of damage via Radiance through. Bant Coco needs to get hosed and that's a huge sweep alongside your other tech to prevent getting overrun (And with Lantern Scout, you'll be just fine taking hits)-not to mention it wrecks aggro decks as well!

Running a lot of Declaration in Stones make me think that one or two Smash to Smithereens isn't a terrible idea either, since it'll slap them in the face some more after you ruin their board state, and comes in useful against Investigate cores running all the nice creature clue-generators.

All in all, an absolutely beautiful deck idea with TONS of potential though my man. Keep at it! I'll be brewing alongside ya too!

Yeah I stopped reading this halfway through.

The deck you are describing is not my deck. It's much more Ally-focused. Not the direction I want to take it in.

Have fun making your version.

Stop calling people "man". It is extremely grating to those of the opposite sex, even if you are using it in a general sense.

Imagine if everybody called you "girl" if you were a man. It would grate on you, no matter how many times you heard it.

In a world filled with mono-white humans... having no viable 1 drop or way to make up for a missed turn seems tough to reckon with in an admittedly slow deck. I'm not the best at building equipment decks, try as I might, but for the first 4 turns you might still only play 3 spells, especially considering equip costs. I think it's tough to come back from that with a deck that is so prone to being beat down from both removal and aggro.

April 22, 2016 10:34 a.m.

No viable white-drops?

There's Thraben Inspector, Expedition Envoy and Town Gossipmonger  Flip :)

Go nuts fam

He is saying Stubi's deck has no one-drops I think.

April 22, 2016 11:33 a.m.

Yeah, and it's not entirely necessary, but it could help.

Going with humans, Dragon Hunter, Stern Constable, Kytheon, Hero of Akros  Flip, Anointer of Champions, Dragonmaster Outcast (good alt win-con), and Village Messenger  Flip seem potentially useful in different cases.

Oh, completely outta left field, but if you find any issues with attackers (say vs Bant Coco), Nahiri's Machinations may be ever so slightly useful for bolstering some resilience to the deck and making unfavorable blocks rampant for the foe.

Kinda surprised you haven't been running Fiery Impulse for early game control to be honest.

Think I was rude before? Try reading the comments I was responding to, which basically told me to rip this deck completely apart, without a thought about what or how I wanted to play.

April 22, 2016 12:34 p.m.

Well no one told you to rip your deck apart. The point of this website is to post your deck and get constructive criticism. We are all working together to make eachother better at Magic.

But in all seriousness Dragonmaster Outcast is amazing and at least a one of.

And as good of a card Declartion is, main deck should have 1 or 2. The others sideboard.

April 22, 2016 1:21 p.m.

"Don't assume I'm female either."

Wait, so... if you're not female... what was your issue with me using 'dude'as a gender-neutral pronoun which I use to address literally anyone, especially when I don't know a gender? I don't get it, but okay, hence why I dropped any form of addressing in my later comments.

And yeah, getting told your deck should be ripped apart sucks. Trust me, I've been there. The thing is: I'm saying I LOVE your deck idea, and wanted to spitball a ton of ideas out, seeing if you hadn't considered any prior or if something caught your eye on the first/second glance. That's all, really. Ya just gotta have faith in your ideas, and be willing to try ideas you wouldn't have considered otherwise. Be grateful for all the attention your decklists get- I only have my friends to help me, rather than tons of others making point-suggestions that at least get ideas flowing.

Oh by the way, Silkwrap and Stasis Snare are beautiful policing effects against transformed Ormendahl, Profane Princes and a ramped/reanimated Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger.

WolvenKnightmare I haven't said I am either gender. Inclusive language is what I'm trying to encourage, and prefer. Just don't see the need to use masculine or feminine pronouns. You know what is said about making assumptions.

I appreciate suggestions, but not being told what this deck "needs", or other such language.

The irony is I've had one person tell me I need to ditch Captain's Claws, and another tell me to add two more copies.

I've mucked around with cards such as Pia and Kiran Nalaar in other builds and didn't like them much. They may have more value here as finishers, with the Artefacts available by the late game. I don't see a place for Ghirapur AEther Grid as I already have Equipment in spots where it would go, and the Equipment gives buffs.

The deck sn't actually Artefact-heavy, it just has a smartering of them.

A smattering of Equipment, a touch of Humans, and a few Allies.

I also played with Dragonmaster Outcast in another deck and ended up not liking it very much.

People seem to be suggesting early drop Creatures. In the first couple of turns this deck focuses on removal only. This gives it time to get out its 2 drops with First Strike.

I will need to build an entirely different deck to test all the ideas suggested. I will do so soon, as I don't have time at the moment.

+1 from me, I like the synergy between your creatures and the equipment. Excuse me if I overlooked it, but I didn't see Phalanx Leader in the previous considerations or discussion. He could potentially buff your team midrange for extra survivability. You would only need to trigger his heroic once or twice.

April 23, 2016 3:43 p.m.

razelfark says... #21

You just suggested a card that is one not standard, two not going to see any trigger function in this deck. Phalanx Leader requires you to target him with a spell to cause his effect to trigger; all his targeted spells are removal and would be a bad idea to target him with.

April 23, 2016 8:18 p.m.

Fiochv2 says... #22

razelfark you're right on both accounts. I forgot that equip costs don't count as casting a spell, I've never used equipment before so I didn't look up the specifics before I made that post. (kicking self in arse)

Fiochv2 no need for arse kicking. It was a bloody good card in the age of Theros.

Thanks for the +1

A few things this deck could heavily benefit from:

Ghirapur AEther Grid: It is just an all around great card for an equipment build like this. It allows them to have an extra function and can be used to pick off problematic creatures. As a side note this card shuts down Westvale Abbey  Flip which is a problematic card in this new standard.

Relic Seeker: Again, for an equipment build like this Relic Seeker can tutor out whatever equipment you want when you want it.

Pia and Kiran Nalaar: They allow you to throw artifacts around and get in the last few points of damage you need and the 3 bodies it gives you are incredibly useful.

Slayer's Plate: In a human heavy deck. this is a super powerful equipment. The buff it gives is nice and all your creatures are human so you will always have that extra human.

Sword of the Animist: Helps you get the basics out of your deck and is a reasonable equipment. Bummer it is legendary but just throwing 1 in the deck wouldn't be a bad idea.

Thalia's Lieutenant: This card is an actual house. Buffs your entire team and can get slower bigger. Again you are heavy in the humans so maybe putting a few in would be good.

Open the Armory: Tutor's out any equipment. Isn't too complicated.

Strength of Arms: Easy powerful buff and gives you a guy most of the time. Bonus cause it is a human : )

Skeleton Key: Gives the equipped creature evasion and allows for a hearty loot when you deal combat damage.

Hope this helps bro. :)
