razelfark no need to overreact.

It takes a certain level of maturity to see things from a different perspective to the norm.

So shocktrooper97 what cards are you suggesting I take out to accommodate these?

What you've suggested would replace half my deck.

BTW I prefer gender neutral terms, rather than words like "bro", that imply that all users of TappedOut are male.

Sorry StuBi was just trying to joke around because of the number of times it happened. Didn't mean to make it look like an overreaction. Forget that reading words can sometimes loose the intended connotation.

Ah no worries at all.

Yeah, I get how you meant it, now.

It's actually kind of funny. Would you write it again, coz I deleted it in a huff?

I should probably address the cards raised above. I'm not going to comment on ones I have commented on previously.

Open the Armory is not necessary as I don't need Equipment to hit the board quickly, or in any particular order.

I don't like what Skeleton Key does any more than what my other Equipment does.

Skeleton Key seems like a fun effect... but in this deck the Skulk function would not likely see any use with the size of the creatures and the fact they get larger once certain creatures are on the board. As for the loot function, it is nice but nothing in the deck really capitalizes on it.

For those wondering what Stubi and I were talking about. the deleted comment went something like :

"Someone said "bro" duck and cover everyone."

I can't remember the exact thing but it was something like that. The comment was made to poke a little fun at how in the tucked away comments a number of people said things like " bro" or "dude" and Stubi asked to not have those comment used multiple times. Wasn't till after I made the comment that I realized that it could be taken the wrong way. Not like I can delete my own comments : / or at least I don't know how to.

You are absolutely correct about Creatures getting too large to make Skulk work very well.

I do get a tiny bit of draw when Stone Haven Outfitter is on the field.

You know, every time somebody says "bro" to me now I am automatically gonna "duck and cover". The mental image is just too funny.

It reminds me of a pic I found in my early days of MY internet use, but has been lost to the ages.

It showed some blokes building a fort and had the caption, "Girls on the Internet? QUICK, BUILD A FORT!!"

TriikT I have my first match results.

You'll be pleased to know that I won three out of four of my matches, and ended up placing fourth on the night.

I lost to my partner's insanely good Cast a Shadow [Top 4 FNM] deck, but managed to even grab one game in that match.

The small changes made to Main and Sideboard proved to be excellent. Lightning Axe gave a lot more flexibility and Angelic Purge proved essential in one match.

Having a lot of lands proved to be a good thing as Needle Spires helped me win a lot of games. I would move equipment around in the second Main phase after attacking with it.

So yeah, this thing plays how I thought it would. Thanks for all the helpful Comments to get it to this point.

That's awesome! Yeah Needle Spires is a good threat. Glad to hear that all went well!

I had suspicions about Lightning Axe and have been confirmed to 8 \ 9 round opponent at the top deck with 3 life is not the best

Sorry peldriver, I don't understand what you mean.

Are you saying the Axe doesn't work well for you? It was great for me.

I do have Burn from Within, though. That lets me get the last bit of damage through rather easily.

I think exquisite firecraftit is better than Lightning Axe which it is a card for deck madness

if your opponent has duress remove Burn from Within e not Lightning Axe

April 30, 2016 9:25 a.m.

StuBi says... #13

I thought that's where you were coming from.

Yes, Lightning Axe works well with Madness, but it has value apart from that.

Think about it. and discard one card to get rid of just about any Creature I like, on my Opponent's turn. That's value.

It made a huge difference in my deck last night.

Exquisite Firecraft is waaaaay too slow for what I want to do, which is basically remove early blockers.

Burn from Within gives me better options than Exquisite Firecraft in the late game because I can pay extra to finish my Opponent off quickly.

against small creatures do not use Lightning Axe what to discard is a problem to 9 turn my hand probably is emptyBurn from Within is ok another card is devour in flamers

StuBi says... #15

Hasn't been a problem using Lightning Axe against smaller Creatures.

I just discard what ever I have too many of.

As people have pointed out, I have a lot of extra land, so I often discard one of those.

I will discard an equipment or a creature if I feel I have enough of those in hand.

I've found that I don't need much equipment to make the deck go off.

I guess it's one of those situations where what you suppose might happen in theory is not happening in reality.

I have Devour in Flames in my Sideboard.

Top decking has yet to be a problem for me, but if an equipped Creature dies and Stone Haven Outfitter is on the field I do get extra draw.

I'm not going to add any of these Creatures to the deck because, although they are very good on their own, with other Humans, or with Allies, they have no synergy with Equipment:

Lantern Scout
Firemantle Mage
Avacynian Missionaries  Flip
Thraben Inspector
Expedition Envoy
Town Gossipmonger  Flip

I don't need early threats in my deck because I have early answers, that get rid of my Opponent's early threats.

Have you ever toyed with Harvest Hand  Flip? I personally thought it would be interesting, but never got around to testing it.

May 4, 2016 11:21 p.m.

StuBi says... #18

It's an interesting idea but it doesn't have great synergy with this deck for the following reasons:

  1. When it enters the field it is not a Human, an Ally, or an Equipment, so it doesn't give or get immediate buffs.

  2. When it flips it does offer +1/+1 and Menace for Humans, but it would probably have to be switched for True-Faith Censer. I like the +1/+1 and Vigilance better, with the extra +1 Power for Humans. Just seems like much better value to me because the non-humans still get the +1/+1 and Vigilance.

Congrats on the Top8! So cool!

How did you get a turn 4 win? I keep running different scenarios and cants find a turn 4 win.

May 6, 2016 2:33 p.m.

razelfark says... #21

Opponent might have scooped. I am trying to crunch numbers and that is my best guess. Turn 4 lethal isn't impossible for some decks, but only way I can see it happening is if the opponent hurt themselves a bit to make it happen in this case.

May 6, 2016 3:22 p.m.

jtforkner says... #22

It's literally not possible this deck can't do any damage till turn three. depending on the creature that is played it would be 2-3 damage. Lets assume best case scenario:

This assumes a perfect game on your part and your opponent doing literally nothing but killing himself to draw cards. If that was my turn four I'd scoop, but I don't keep bad hands.

May 6, 2016 4:01 p.m.

razelfark says... #23

I see a math error for your best case. when you go tot play weapon trainer on turn 3 you could also drop the stoneforged armor to activate the weapon trainer a turn earlier. That turn would result in an extra two damage. You also forgot to to include the 1 damage from attacking turn 2 with the stoneforger. That would equal lethal damage. But yeah... that is not likely how things happened.
