I love a good monochomatic deck, and black has some of the nastiest creatures (looking at you, Phyrexian Obliterator) so here's my take on the mono-black deck that pops up in tournaments from time to time.

Black also offers us the best hand disruption in the game in the forms of Thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek. Pair that with a foolproof mana base and some solid threats that fire off consistently and you've definitely got the tools to rumble with the tier one decks in the format.

Basically what you want to do is build devotion faster than a cult leader and drop a Gray Merchant of Asphodel and it's gg.

I think Bloodghast has beautiful synergy with this deck because you can pitch them to Liliana of the Veil, crack a fetch and then bring them in when needed to count towards that sweet, sweet devotion.
