I don't really know modern well but here's some random thoughts/suggestions

Skeletal Scrying, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx

tormod's crypt over Bojuka Bog only makes sense to me if being able to activate at instant speed is important

Smallpox plays well with bloodghast (but not 6 drops)

tombstalker over Gurmag Angler or Tasigur, the Golden Fang?

Lashwrithe - cut shizo for a swamp if you play this. Actually, mutilate is probably reason enough that it should be a swamp. I think this card is possibly actually better than obliterator?

I'm kind of surprised at your lack of turn 2 plays. Relentless Dead is probably worse than bloodghast, but being able to block matters a lot when it matters. Bitterblossom also exists

possible things to help against aggro: Drown in Sorrow, Tendrils of Corruption, Tribute to Hunger, Consuming Vapors, or just more cheap removal probably.

I will be trying out Bitterblossom when i can get one. I just like the flying Tombstalker offers. Thank you for the suggestion!

If you find yourself runing bitterblossom in mono black Plunge into Darkness can be fun, and a strong way to find answers.

Great deck! Here are my recommendations Desecration Demon, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Nightveil Spectre? (<- sux against lightning bolt). I would not play 3 Lili's and 2 Phyrexian Arena. That seems like overkill. Maximum I would play 4 Lili's and that's it. 2 Fulminator Mage mainboard is OK if you like them. 1 Grave Titan would be OK. You really want to play 4 Blood Crypt and 4 Blackcleave Cliffs. Vampire Nighthawk is AMAZING if you are not up against Lightning Bolt. Phyrexian Obliterator<- on of the best black creatures ever printed. For card draw you want 4 Dark Confidant

Removal: Victim of Night, Hero's Downfall, Doom Blade, Go for the Throat, Ultimate Price. Disfigure, Damnation

Whip of Erebos is good for grindy matchups

Lifebane Zombie for the sideboard

I modern I would take out 1 Chandra, Flamecaller, 4 Demigod of Revenge, 2 Phyrexian Arena

and Smother is great in modern

1-3 Tasigur, the Golden Fang is great for card draw

The deck actually was originally mono black and started with a lot of the cards you suggested, but I decided to play around with a red splash for artifact answers. I only have 3 Liliana of the Veil currently so the 4th will have to wait. The reason i have not used Dark Confidant is because of my mana curve so I decided to use Phyrexian Arena instead. Thanks for the suggestions!

Also, some sort of cheap field-wipe such as Drown in Sorrow could be a helpful tool on your sideboard for aggro matchups. (I know Ratchet Bomb is there but I feel that it could be too slow.)

I have had Gray Merchant of Asphodel in before and he does work, but i wanted to try at Dark Confidant. As far as Drown in Sorrow goes i have thought about adding 1 to the board.
