This is basically a different take on esper in a way. The main decks function is to mostly scry to help get to the cards we need quickly depending on the situationand to give our opponents a worse card advantage.
The main objective is to have a good board with good blockers and to basically mill the opponent out of all their resources and finally Ultimate Ashiok's power then Jace's Ultimate to give us a better card advantage and to make sure the opponent has nothing left except for their board.
Another objective too is to use their deck against them and kill them by attacking with their own creatures that we used to get using Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver
-Jace, the Living Guildpact helps stall time and also helps with the scry function.
-We have some removal in the mainboard like Banishing Light to help get rid of Gods and the 2 Hero's Downfall to help destroy big threats or planeswalkers.
- The 4 Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver help us to give our opponent a worse card advantage and/or take advantage of possibe creatures they have in their deck.
-The 3 Thassa, God of the Sea of course helps us scry every turn allowing us to go digging for answers. Thassa also helps in giving us unblockable creatures if we have a better chance at going after the opponent's life total.
-The 2 Frost Lynx helps us keep creatures from attacking the next turn to stall time for us to hopefully scry into a great answer.
-The 4 Elspeth.Sun's Champion helps us answer bigger creatures the opponent could sometimes control or just give us more blockers and/or to stall more time.
-The 2 Phenax, God of Deception I decided to put in just to help in either mid or late game to give us the option to just mill out the opponent before they kill us or to just end a game earlier. He also helps with giving the opponent a worse card advantage also.
-The 2 Thoughtseize in the mainboard help with possible early game removal and to give us information on what we mainly have to answer for the next couple of turns. The two extra in the sideboard gives us the option to add more removal if need be. The same goes with the 2 hero's downfall on the main and sideboard.
-The 2 Wall of Frost helps us block some of the larger creatures and helps protects us long enough for us to draw into more answers for our opponent.
-The 4 Dissolve helps us counter removal spells towards our planeswalkers, gods, and/or creatures. It works well with thoughtseize considering it helps plan out early game moves and strategies.
-The 3 Master of the Feast gives the opponent a problem to deal with early game and gives us a flying blocker if need be.
-The three Mind Sculpt are mainly there to help with giving the opponent a worse card advantage and it works well if the opponent has a Courser of Kruphix especially if they need/want the card on the top of the library.
-The 2 AEtherspouts helps us with token attacks and/or blockers the opponent controls and bigger creatures. Some opponents might decide to put some cards on the top of their library but if we have a mind sculpt in hand those creatures are gone and if they put them on the bottom better for us!
The Sideboard needs a bit a improvement but it's basically built to give us more removal if we need it, to give us more creatures, help gain life, and help protect us.
I'm trying to keep this deck to have all the cards be in standard for the next year or so. Any help or thoughts on the sideboard and/or mainboard and what should maybe be changed or replaced would be greatly appreciated. Also, thoughts on the land setup too. I know shock lands are going out of standard so I might put 3 copies of the reprint of the Cave of Koilos(Black/White Painland) to replace most of the Temple of Silence and to give us a better chance at a turn 1 Thoughtseize.
