### The Can of Soup is intended to be an addition to multiplayer Commander games, much like the Planechase variant. There are a few additional rules, though, that govern the 'Can of Soup' player. #

  • Whenever the Can of Soup must make any decision, it acts as dictated by its rules. If no rule covers the decision, it chooses at random from among all legal actions. This includes choosing targets and every 'may' decision in rules text. Make as few choices as possible for every set of decisions. For example, if the Can of Soup is resolving Eureka , it gets the first opportunity to put a card into play. Randomly choose whether or not it will. If it does, randomly choose from among all legal cards in its hand, and put one of them into play. Then proceed with the normal resolution of Eureka , repeating this process as many times as necessary.
  • Whenever the Can of Soup draws a card, place that card into its hand face down.
  • The Can of Soup has no maximum hand size.
  • Whenever the Can of Soup enters a main phase, it casts all cards in its hand in the order in which they were drawn.
  • The Can of Soup skips its combat phase.
  • The Can of Soup has no life total.
  • The Can of Soup cannot win or lose.
  • The Can of Soup can always pay any cost.
  • The Can of Soup has no mana pool.
  • The Can of Soup always takes the first turn of any game. It draws a hand of five cards and cannot take any mulligans.

Specific Rules

Ignore

The Can of Soup ignores the abilities of the following card:

Vote

If one of the following cards is used by the Can of Soup, the options granted by it are not chosen randomly. Instead, players all vote for the option they would like. The Can of Soup chooses the option that receives the most votes. If the vote is tied, choose between all tied options randomly.

Always Activate

So long as
  • it is the Can of Soup's turn, during its main phase;
  • The Can of Soup has priority; and
  • the stack is empty #
then the Can of Soup always activates the activated abilities of the following cards (in a randomly chosen order if more than one is available):

Miscellaneous

Whims of the Fates: The Can of Soup puts all permanents it controls into one pile and leaves two piles empty.
