I'm considering Horribly Awry in the main deck to counter Early Jace, Vryn's Prodigy  ^Flip plays and slow down creature decks. I may want more Despise in the main board or adding some to sideboard. as well as Transgress the Mind

I see, then I could just use Ugin's Insight or some other draw spell. Likely it will get replaced with board wipes. Languish will take its place. Thanks for bringing that to my attention Rhineriver. Anticipate and Dig Through Time definitely do their job in keeping my hand full of answers. Perhaps if I can get a hold of a few copies of Jace, Vryn's Prodigy  ^Flip, but I don't want to use that card if I don't have to. Other than the land base, this deck is fairly cheap to build and I'd like to keep it that way for player's who don't have 280 bucks to throw down on a play set of 1 card. If you have any suggestions of cards to add I'd like to hear them!

Running more Prairie Stream and replacing Evolving Wilds with Fetchlands like Polluted Delta and Flooded Strand would help make the mana base stronger. I just don't have money for fetches. after about 7 turns in the mana usually fixes itself via Anticipate and Dig Through Time.

Soulfire Grand Master + Ojutai's Command its an annoying combo that stalled my Atarka deck at FNM

Interesting, Psychosocial, I like it, it has synergy with my Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper by allowing me to keep recasting spells. I wouldn't be able to make full use of the lifelink though. Any thoughts on how to work them in?

With the removal and control the deck has, her pinging for 2 and healing for two every turn adds up.. It's frustrating.. And the two times I impulses the thing, command just brought it or a Jace back.

I know the price is high but if you get/have Jace it's another win on here.. Jace decked me in one of the games.

I would also cut 2-3 plains for Sunken Hollow

Jace would be going in there if I manage somehow to pull it. I may need the white if I decide to run Ojutai's Command and Soulfire Grand Master. Sunken Hollow will likely take Dismal Backwater's place and with the life gain from grand master, I should be good on lifegain again. I think I may need a second copy of Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper. tell me what you think I should remove to add these cards.

If you have Jace, then in a sense you wouldn't need any other creatures except maybe the Soulfire, but to just add soulfire and command I'd remove, bala God, fathom feeder and ruinous path... Especially ruinous path, the card is absolutely terrible in a control deck. If it were instant it'd be amazing but tappin out on your turn so Atarka or really any Aggro can run all over you?

Control needs untapped lands, most of your plays come in your opponents 2nd main.

There's a single ruinous path, and it answers planeswalkers and annoying creatures. I tend to play it late game and get the awaken effect which gives me a blocker or at least a body to do damage with. Board wipes like languish and crux usually take care of most things. I know i need more of those. I want this deck to be good but i don't really have the funds to slap 400 bucks on the counter for the cards

I hear you there.. Prices will go down when khans rotates. Whoever thought it was a good idea to have fetches and dual fetchables in the same standard was high.

I guess they REALLY wanted to make some money. And Jace is almost always a pricey card, but the last time he was this expensive makes me think of Jace, the Mind Sculptor the price never really went down on that one. Even though he's banned in modern.

Psychosocial, are there any more...Budgety cards you could suggest, like dollar cards or maybe stuff that costs at most $5.

It's really hard to make a good control deck on a budget... It relies so heavily on fetching the right lands, Jace casting out of the graveyard, Gideon, etc.

You could make a counter and removal heavy setup... Languish, Murderous Cut, Utter End, Ultimate Price, Silkwrap, Stasis Snare, Clash of Wills, Negate, Horribly Awry. And add hand disruption with Duress and Transgress the Mind. But this leaves you with out a wincon... Maybe Silumgar's and Ob Nixilis? I know he's cheap now. Icefall Regent may fit in?

Maybe a red splash for Dragonmaster Outcast, he can be nasty if you can protect him. But with him Ojutais Command would almost be required so you can bring him back.

I'm thinking more Languish, and maybe trying to get my hands on a Narset Transcendent. Perhaps push Breezedancer and Noyan to a win using the rebound, and getting what I need with the + ability. I think I can get Murderous Cut In the mainboard replacing the Ruinous Path and put the path in the side. (I like the target Planeswalker part) Perhaps I can replace 1 Anticipate with Dragonlord's Prerogative. I happen to have 1 copy of Ulamog, what say you to possibly putting that in it?

Understood. I'm not thinking regent would be good here, it dies to languish if I need to use it. Ob nix could work in here and I may find a spot for it but I like Narset better.
