Ghave, Guru of Spores is probably one of the most consistent counter/token commanders I have found. Just because of the fact that you can remove the counters as a cost and sack at instant speed he can make the most of your opponent destroying your biggest creature, if they detain something you can shuffle counters around and so forth.
