This version of the Favorable Winds deck uses The Locust God, Whirler Virtuoso , and Drake Haven as its fliers. If you're able to cycle something for 1 mana and you have The Locust God and a Drake Haven out, you're getting 3 power in the air across two bodies at instant speed, plus a new card, not to mention the fact that with Favorable Winds it becomes 5 power. Seems pretty good to me. The cycling lands can easily be replaced with the common deserts from Hour of Devastation, though its kind of nice to keep your opponent guess at what you could have (more colors = more options) and it opens the deck up for maybe going into some other colors. Black seems viable as there are two different cycling lands that are blue or red and also make black, with Aether Hub s as backup.
