Temur Dragons splashing black for Dragonlord Kolaghan. The aim is to play a Evolving Wilds turn 1. Turn 2 ideal play would be a Beastcaller Savant. We can usually turn 3 a Thunderbreak Regent, or a Shaman of Forgotten Ways. Turn 4 and 5 consist of getting large dragons out onto the field!

So what are our other cards for

  • Sarkhan Unbroken: If we are not on an ideal curve his mana adding ability helps a lot to get out the dragonlords! His draw ability is super useful too as this deck starts to run out of cards later on. He also deposits a dragon onto the board as soon as he hits the board using his -2, and his ultimate in this deck is just silly!
  • Nissa, Vastwood Seer  : Pulling the extra forest out of our deck when she hits the board thins our deck, and makes sure we have sufficient land to ramp up to the big dragons. It also ensures we have enough land for non-creature spells as our mana generators only generate for creature spells. If she gets flipped then awesome card advantage, a 4,4 and an awesome ultimate!
  • Draconic Roar: Good creature removal, and should be able to show a dragon to do 3 damage to opponent. Anything this can't destroy hopefully my dragon lords should be able to deal with them.
  • Stubborn Denial: Something to help me out playing against agro who are pumping there creatures in the early game, or against control. Usually subbed out or more subbed in depending on match up.
  • Icefall Regent : Always good to have more dragons. It's ability to tap something down gives me that slight advantage whilst I'm waiting a dragonlord.

Although the land base does not seem ideal (fetches are expensive!), it seems to be working rather well due to Beastcaller Savant and Shaman of Forgotten Ways generating mana of any colour (albeit only to cast creature spells). Sometimes getting blue for Sarkhan Unbroken can be a problem.

I would like to -2 Kiora, Master of the Depths for +2 Nissa, Vastwood Seer  . Would also like to -1 Forest for +1 Wooded Foothills. Opinions on these changes would be very much appreciated!

Updates Add

Having opened a box of KTK, I have updated the deck in accordance to some of the comments. Firstly I have replaced Blisterpod with Fiery Impulse because Fiery Impulse can kill Jace, and does better versus agro. Next I replaced the 2 Negate with 2 Stubborn Denial as it is 1 blue cheaper, and is there to protect my dragons versus sacrifice spells. I added 2 Wooded Foothills to help smooth out the mana. Finally replaced Ugin's Insight with Treasure Cruise as it is far easier to get a single blue then double!
