KibaAlpha - I'd consider Plumb the Forbidden over Phyrexian Arena personally. Arena is great in really casual metas where games go 20+ turns but I personally find it lacking in anything resembling a competitive game.

Thank you for you suggestion. Tevesh was a card I considered and if I recall correctly I did have him in the deck. Over time I found better cards and his CMC bothered me resulting in his removal. Now I'm looking at removing the Arena and replacing it with something that isn't card draw as 13 ways of drawing cards I feel will result in diminishing returns.

Thank you for the suggestion my friend. As I stated in my reply to Housegheist I'll most likely swap out arena for something other than another card draw spell. I'm considering the card draw vs diminishing returns. Without arena I'll still have 12 ways to draw cards.

Pawn of Ulamog does stuff and things sometimes. I normally pair him up with combos but in this deck it looks on theme. I notice youve excluded Midnight Reaper and Grim Haruspex, I assume this is because you are avoiding triggers that dont work with your tokens, but since this guy also creates a token when he dies, it might be worth considering. He costs an extra mana, but you always get it back.

Why isn't black market in here? I saw some conversation about it - any reason why it's not here? Cheers.

Also, does sacrificing a creature (ex: Priest of Forgotten Gods) trigger Teysa?

Ah it's in there already. My bad!

depends on the boardstate... usually, a sacrificed creature dies as it enters the battlefield. If you have any "dies"-triggers on the battlefield, Teysa would trigger twice... if your opponent has some die-replacement effects (like Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet): no Teysa-trigger

lowsypunk & Housegheist: Priest of Forgotten Gods will not be affected by teysa because it's an activated ability, not a triggered ability.

Well, it's true, that the ability of Priest of Forgotten Gods won't trigger twice. But the 2 sacrificed creatures will do if you either they have a "dies" effect" or you have another permanent which triggers on "dies" like Grave Pact or Blood Artist

Housegheist i'm aware, but that wasn't the question.

Thank you for the suggestion, Pawn of Ulamog was initially included in the deck, however as new cards were released and it became easier for me to look for 1 or 2 cmc cost creatures that created one or more tokens upon their death, that particular card ended up being cut.

He does add value but im my opinion not enough for me to swap him out with anything at this time.

As for Midnight Reaper and Grim Haruspex you are correct in stating why they aren't in the deck. This being a token focused deck I really didn't want to include such cards that don't trigger when a token dies.

Why isn't Black Market in the deck can be simply explained. I've worked hard to lower and keep the avg. cmc quite low. Doing so means I don't require as much mana as some others would.

Black Market when I tested this deck more often than not is just a dead card. It also pales in comparison to Smothering Tithe and Pitiless Plunderer the latter being a creature I can sac if the ramp he offers isn't required.

Both cards are also cheaper than Black Market.

Haven’t tou considered to used Luminous Broodmoth? It recycles your dieing creatures to double up the possible triggers… and that these copies are flying doesn’t hurt either.

I think Oversold Cemetery could perform pretty well, too.

I was originally going to doubt the title, because you can't really see her body shape through her clothes on Teysa Karlov's art, and on Teysa, Orzhov Scion she actually looks pretty small, but then I saw her on Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts and there's no doubt any more.

What the fuck am I doing?

I have considered both cards, numerous times actually. Luminous Broodmoth handcuffs me, forcing me to wait on sacrificing creatures until it’s on the field itself.

As for Oversold Cemetery I don’t have any real specific creature I’m concerned with returning from my graveyard. I’m more interested in mass creature revival, albeit short lived with Rally the Ancestors or Wake the Dead to be a knockout punch provided I have my board set up accordingly.

However, thank you for your interest and suggestions for the deck.

Upvoted, looks like a lot of fun! I've been working on a Teysa aristocrats build and I'm very interested that you said the deck doesn't require or perform combat damage, are you mitigating evasion and other damage from lifegain alone?

September 21, 2023 8:43 a.m.

Gandalf the white for even more double triggers! Maybe a Ratadrabik for your legends and/or a Nightmare shepherd?

Delney, Streetwise Lookout, Mirkwood Bats, and Kambal, Profiteering Mayor are definitely worth consideration.
