Glad to hear it KibaAlpha! I think, for 2 MV, it's just too good for an aristocrats deck.

Do you find you have problems with land in this deck? I know your curve is pretty low at 2.28 but 29 still isn't that much. I just playtested this a bit and consistently had to mulligan and only pulled out Teysa in like 1 of the 6 games. Not sure what your thoughts are but perhaps some cards like Pitiless Plunderer, Shambling Ghast, Dire Fleet Hoarder could go a long way in this deck? Revel in Riches as well if you're intereted in extra wincons but I understand if you're not.

You are absolutely correct. Looking for similar cards I found Reanimate. In play testing I'm glad I've added both cards.

I've only had land issues a small number of times. There have been a few times during play testing where I have had to mulligan several times. However it isn't often or frequent enough for me to want to add additional lands or ramp.

All you need is 2 lands in your opening hand unless you get Sensei's Divining Top in your opening hand as well then you could get away with 1 land in your opening hand. Once you have 4 lands in play you should be able to have an explosive turn on turn 10.

Teysa Karlov I only play when I'm ready for an explosive turn, typically she comes out on turn 10. She's a value engine and not necessary for the deck to function or win.

I've considered and tried out Pitiless Plunderer and Revel in Riches, both fell short of expectations.

Dire Fleet Hoarder and Shambling Ghast are good considerations if I needed the extra mana something I am finding myself not needing.

Thank you for you comment and suggestions. They are appreciated even if they aren't used at this time.

The deck title alone gets an upvote

So I have a relatively similar list and I have to say not playing Bolas' Citadel in a necro combo deck seems objectively wrong. I don't think I've ever resolved Necro-Citadel and not won on the spot.

IMO, there's no reason to have Stoneforge Mystic in there JUST for fetching Skullclamp...

Thank you. You aren't the first and probably won't be the last to make that statement.

After some re-evaluating, I agree and have put Bolas's Citadel back in.

You might be right. It could end up being a wasted spot. For now it's just being tested out.

However so far I haven't found it to be a wasted spot and have used Stoneforge Mystic to retrieve Skullclamp many times and my other tutors to grab other pieces.

The titties of power will take over the site of TappedOut.net and the World of mortal men will stand no chance.

Pretty sure Academy Rector doesn't trigger twice, but it's still a really good card none-the-less.

Pretty sure you are correct. It does however all me to tutor out an enchantment and can then be used as sacrifice fodder.

Creatures like that are not to be overlooked.

Recently built my own Teysa Karlov deck after a ~2-3 year hiatus. Glad to see it pop up again! Wanted to say thank you for the inspiration!

I’m assuming cards like Requiem Angel and Divine Visitation are too mana-intensive for the deck? They’re all-stars in mine, and allow me to pop off, even on their own.

Just wanted to drop by to say some kind words!

KibaAlpha Both Rectors do trigger twice. It's not an 'exile it instead' effect. So the dead trigger still goes on the stack twice. So twice the planeswalkers/enchantments.

That being said, I do suggest running 2-3 more walkers just to get value out of the rector. If you have lily out before the rector shes a dead card.

I've asked several judges and the Rectors don't work that way. It's all one ability, and Teysa does make it trigger twice. The issue is that if you exile it to the first ability, you can't also exile it to the second ability. Still good additions though since they are useful.

Interresting cuts.

i found Phyrexian Arena pretty grindy. Maybe rethink about Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools? I have to admit, he cost 2 cmc more but... he is resilient as hell with his 2 relevant + abilities and a game-winning ultimate. And... he can't kill you by pinging yourself

jsnrice says... #23

Housegheist the Phyrexian Arena is way cheaper and doesn't have loyalty points so it can't be attacked. Enchantment removal is there but the arena is going to be harder to take out than a planeswalker. It's also cheaper and draws far less attention compared to Szat.

As this deck produced tokens af abd the ability from Tevesh to protect himself he is definitely worth to think about… if not more.

The round he comes in he’s able to draw 2 cards and create death triggers… best case for the arena to draw 2 is to wait 2 rounds which equals in round 5. In addition, the arena uses double-black pip which Tevesh doesn‘t.

I admit, he has a target on his back. And even though he costs two cmc more, he fits the theme and strategy of the deck way more.
