Kaio, trollslayer is right haha. There are some decent changes you have in mind, but I have Impact Tremors in the sideboard for Fog effects and other harder to deal with decks. Tuktuk the Explorer is meant for my sacrifice outlet.. Goblin Grenade or it can be used against decks with things like Pyroclasm, which means if they board wipe me they're going to have a big 5/5 issue on the board who is still a goblin. Goblin Chieftain is literally one of the best goblins, he gives everyone haste and buffs all the little tokens. I only have two Foundry Street Denizens because they're generally only sent out either turn 1 or when I already achieved a board state giving all goblins haste. Splashing white doesn't make a whole lot of sense for this, it'll just delay the game giving the opponent more of an advantage. I already have huge early creature clear whether they need to be killed from Goblin Grenade or Lightning Bolt. I don't want token generators because first off I have Krenko, Mob Boss and secondly they generally cost a lot of mana when I already want to be attacking for lethal on turn 3 or 4. My two mana turn is generally either to send out two 1 mana creatures or my Warren Instigator.

Thanks for the comment and showing me your opinion! I appreciate it :D

You can do more damage. You have 1 more mana available turn 4 so you can play 1 more Foundry Street Denizen before tapping Krenko giving you a multiplier of 33 instead of 32 and an additional pile of damage from the extra denizen. I'm too lazy to do the math so I'll leave that up to you.

Sweet deck!

the only thing I'm thinking is that I don't really like Tuktuk the Explorer. Otherwise, super fun build! +1 fo sho XD

It's a sacrifice outlet. While I agree that the initial value is underwhelming, dealing 5 damage and getting a 5/5 out of the bargain is too good to miss.

Figag It looks that way until you realise on turn 4 I only have my three lands in play, therefore I have no extra mana :) Thank you very much!

Minelia5 Tuktuk the Explorer isn't overwhelming for sure, but what he is used for is either as a sacrifice outlet, or as something to really downsize the effect of board wipes like Drown in Sorrow or whatever it may be. It makes them think twice of whether or not they should do that. Keep in mind when it dies it turns into a 5/5 goblin so it's still effected by anything to do with goblins. Like if you have Goblin Chieftain Foundry Street Denizen in play on turn 4, you send out Tuktuk the Explorer, use Goblin Grenade to the face, combat and attack in for 12 equaling to 17 damage in that one turn. :)

Very true DaftVader!

Thanks a lot guys for the comments and the upvotes, I appreciate it a lot!! :D

But you can play a 4th land cuz its turn 4! And your combo only takes 9 cards, and on turn 4 you have 11 cards if you're on the draw. So on the draw you can hit for more.

Ah never thought of that. You changed my opinion of him :D

Duckling says... #8

Figag that's true, but I prefer it to be when you're not on the draw :)

Minelia5 It can definitely be a surprise tactic that's for sure! Not many people think that the little 1/1 with haste can make such a big impact on the game!

Suggesting Gemstone Caverns to be 1 turn faster.

Nice deck, +1.

------ That's a really cool card. I've never actually seen it before. I really don't know what I think of it. It seems like a really good sideboard option for when you're not on the play, but it'd be too risky to have in the mainboard because oftentimes you'll start first, and that will make you end up mulliganing more often as it only provides colorless mana in a variety of situations when you don't actually use a whole lot of lands in the first place. As much as it is one turn faster for this win, it is also not on the play, which this turn 4 win is on, but I see your point. On the draw, that would be an incredible start. Thanks a lot for the suggestion, I'll have to think about it!

With the gemstone caverns, even if you only have one in your deck, you could do your damage on turn 3

Duckling says... #12

Yes micah1 but only if you were on the draw, because the only way it's going to have a luck counter is if you're not going first. Originally I made this deck's whole damage concept based on going first just to make it easier for me! There are definite possibilities of doing more damage and doing other things if you started on the draw!

Is there any sideboard tech against stuff like Batwing Brume? This seems very suceptible to stuff like that.

Duckling says... #14

trollslayer I haven't faced that type of deck yet, although I've played against infinite Fog and I came to the conclusion that against those types of decks Impact Tremors or Altar of the Brood generally are slow, yes, but they do work effectively. (Krenko with impact tremors equals a ton of damage per turn) Also in the maybeboard is Skullcrack which seems to also be a viable option :)

I was more talking about the second one. It results Ina tie, so if you swing that much, and almost kill him, in respons I make it a tie instead of you winning.

trollslayer To my understanding, I'd probably have to realize it's the type of deck that runs Batwing, and then make sure to attack with you know less than creatures than your life. Otherwise I'm rather inexperienced in the matter, are decks containing Batwing Brume popular in the current Modern meta?

kameenook says... #17

I've never seen Batwing Brume in any decks, but it's always been in the back of my mind. That kind of effect can be valuable against decks like infect where they go all in, or a multi-use Rakdos Charm against twin.

Batwing Brume Has seen competitive play before actually, though only in sideboards.

Duckling says... #19

Good to know, and thanks for pointing out one of the downfalls of attacking with many creatures! (Although, in normal matchups the opponents send out creatures too, so you're less likely to attack with everyone as someone like Goblin Chieftain is just too valuable to have alive.)

Atony1400 Valid suggestion, and obviously an insanely useful card, but for mainboard it can slow down the deck by quite a bit. Definitely an amazing sideboard option for any deck with a variety of nonbasics, the only problem I have with it really is that your turn 3 is one of the most vital turns, not to mention it costs a lot of money right now haha! I'll put it in the maybeboard for anyone who I guess prefers a 'safer' approach! (I also don't know a whole lot about modern meta right now, so I'm just going to wait and see. I finally got almost all the pieces of this deck together, other than one Warren Instigator and I might actually be going to a modern event today depending on what happens!)

Thanks for the great suggestion!!

I got destroyed by goblins at my LGS today, the meta there is 50% goblins usually, and I never had a problem, but Piledriver sucks......

I'd recommend Goblin Bushwhacker + Mogg War Marshal , the cards are good, and f***ing annoying.

Duckling says... #24

kameenook Thanks for the comment, and wow that's a lot of goblins! I personally like Goblin Piledriver :O

September 20, 2015 4:04 p.m.

kameenook says... #25

Yeah, it was more of a "Goblin Piledriver sucks because it's good.

I couldn't very well beat Legion Loyalist with a token army and a trampling piledriver.
