The deck easily out races Heroic. Siege Rhino decks are also a pretty good match up for the same reason. Downfalls are already very taxed and all of the fliers are very good against them.
I actually haven't played any against the Mentor deck I'll have to try that out.

Well you're definitely right about that RW burn deck it feels impossible to beat if you don't draw Lightning Strike.

I hadn't realized it but your right about out racing blue right heroic. However, Abzan is moving more towards an aggro approach, wherein they have the curve of Fleecemane Lion or Rakshasa Deathdealer turn two, to Anafenza, the Foremost turn three, to Siege Rhino turn 4, and Wingmate Roc turn five. That curve out seems hard to keep pace with without removal. I like the addition of Wild Slash, kills rabblemaster and all there other monastery shennanigans, good add I think, also helps again in early game for cheap removal in every matchup and late game the ferocious with be good as well

I actually still like the Abzan aggro matchup. It's pretty much the only deck I've been facing on MTGO since GP Denver. Mardu on the other hand is a bad matchup as well as the RW deck that Sam Pardee and Sam Black played at the GP.

Jdvanliew You're right Xenagos is a beast in the deck I have him main decked in pre FRF. I'm not sure what I'd cut for main deck Xenagos right now. Probably like the Flamewake Phoenix I haven't been impressed by it.

Savage Punch or Fall of the Hammer could be valid removal options for you

VarolzInTheDirt We'll have to see how the meta shifts. I don't want too many spells in the deck as the goal is to get them dead before what they're doing matters. Fall of the Hammer is cute with Heir though.

Not sure how you feel, but I enjoy Mizzium Mortars. Maybe only one or two swapped out for a lightning strike. In case I need an extra damage on a creature, or the rare case of the overload.

This looks like my The Hunt for Glory deck. May I suggest Shamanic Revelation, Xenagos, the Reveler, Xenagos, God of Revels, Atarka, World Render, and Hornet Queen?
January 26, 2015 3:40 p.m.
If I wanted to be playing a midrange deck it would be Abzan not in the market for 7 drops. Shamanic Revelation maybe sideboard for grindy matchups.
Don't like Xenagod as Stormbreath Dragon and Sarkhan are way better as they don't need anything else on board to do something.

You might want 7 Mountain and 5 Forest. Your red fatties require RR which can be a problem when you have forests and Elvish Mystics down
January 28, 2015 1:22 p.m.
The reason for 6 of both is you want to play mystic on turn 1 having a bunch of mountains hinders that.

I higly reccomend you find a spot for some Flamewake Phoenix. I played against a R/G deck yesterday (I play sidisi whip) and the Ashcloud Phoenix + Flamewake Phoenix synergy is incredibly hard to deal with! With all the 4 power creatures in your deck the ferocious will happen a lot of times. Flamewake Phoenix is a single bring back with haste and flying. Reaaally good card :)

I had Flamewake Phoenix in for a while it was ok, but Boon Satyr is better in my meta.

Lack of removal makes it very hard to play against seige rhino, blue white heroic, and new boros burn with Monastery mentor and Grandmaster. Might make this a very hard deck to play.
