Overview

Welcome to my take on the Commander 2018 precon Jund Lands. Players were starving for a jund commander that could interact with lands, and now Lord Windgrace, one of the coolest planeswalkers ever, one of the Nine Titans led by Urza, is here to take the charge.

Omnath, Locus of the Gitrog Monster?

On this colors, there were two land matters commanders reigning supreme: Omnath, Locus of Rage and The Gitrog Monster. One focusing on ramping and to overrun the opposition with giant tokens, the other to gain value and combo off. So, with Jund, why not both? There are many ramp spells for you to drown in lands and to play Omnath and go to the token overrun route, with classic cards like Titania, Protector of Argoth, Avenger of Zendikar and Rampaging Baloths to aid in this endeavor. Meanwhile, The Gitrog Monster will generate value with card draw, sacrificing your lands and immediatly putting them on the battlefield with Ramunap Excavator and the newly reprinted Crucible of Worlds. By the way, The Gitrog Monster has an uncanny synergy with Borborygmos Enraged, with both on the battlefield dealing damage to creature/opponents and drawing you cards.

Win Condition - The Omnath Way

Just overrun your opponents with tokens and giant creatures. Titania, Protector of Argoth, Avenger of Zendikar, Omnath, Locus of Rage, Rampaging Baloths and Zendikar's Roil will give you a gigantic army. There is not much more to tell here.

Win Condition - The Gitrog Way

The Gitrog Monster+Skirge Familiar+Dakmor Salvage: Classic Gitrog Combo. With Gitrog Monster on the battlefield, activate Skirge Familiar' ability, discarding Dakmor Salvage. Dakmor hitting the graveyar will activate Gitrog's ability, but choose to dredge instead of drawing. Repeat this process as much as you can, Kozilek, Butcher of Truth will protect you from loss for self mill. This way, you basically have infinite mana and can draw as many cards as you want, since lands hitting your graveyard from the top your library thanks to Dakmor's dredge. With infinite black mana, you can use to fuel a Torment of Hailfire that can finish the game.

So, about Lord Windgrace...

Lord Windgrace is obviously a fun commander, but I feel this commander doesn't have the focus that The Gitrog Monster and Omnath, Locus of Rage. The Gitrog Monster is a combo machine while Omnath is an army generator. Without them on the command zone, you don't have the reliability you would have in a deck focusing on them as commanders. However, this does not take any credit from Lord Windgrace and jund players who were starving for a land matters deck will be more than pleased with this feline planeswalker.
