Corrupted Control, a deceivingly strong deck that aims to control the board with counter-spells and removal until the opponent is infected with 10 poison counters to snatch the win.
This is a deck I crafted myself as I enjoy playing control style on arena and wanted to use as many of the new cards from Phyrexia All Will Be One as possible.
This deck is super fun and pretty competitive deck, if you like annoying your opponent by killing anything that hit the board while nope’ing anything else they want to cast, this one’s for you!
Bring the Ending and Reject Imperfection set the tone for the counter package, both being awesome counters.
Bring the Ending starting off as a Mana Leak but within a couple of turns becomes Counterspell just solid in any situation.
Reject Imperfection counters anything while proliferating an opponents poison counters and/or our planeswalkers, if it counters spells below 3CMC.
Removal comes thick and fast in this deck with instant’s like Vraska's Fall and Anoint with Affliction.
Vraska's Fall great for removing hexproof creatures or planeswalker’s while giving the opponent a poison counter.
Anoint with Affliction is actually an insane removal spell, versatile for 2 mana at instant speed, it only gets better once the opponent reaches corrupted status!
Drown in Ichor a nice sorcery speed removal spell that also gives the opponent more poison and/or dishes out counters to our planeswalker’s too!
Cut Down there just to blow away early creatures, but can also work well with Drown in Ichor & Jace, the Perfected Mind for larger creatures.
Draw in this deck is just bonkers, you will very rarely find yourself empty handed or low on cards.
Prologue to Phyresis is normally the poison party starter, being an instant speed draw while getting a poison counter on our opponent is invaluable!
Experimental Augury helps dig for needed cards while again proliferating anything on the board as well as our opponents poison counters.
Distorted Curiosity is nuts, looks unassuming at first, but drawing 2 cards for 1CMC is crazy, even at sorcery speed.
Infectious Inquiry is just solid draw while also getting our opponents poison count up.
Serum Snare is a good tempo bounce card that will also proliferate if its used on lower costing permanents.
Drag to the Bottom is there as a sweeper, this deck only really struggles with being overrun by go wide strategies. It’s not perfect but it’s close to the best we have in standard at the moment.
Jace, the Perfected Mind is used to mill/draw while powering down any threats we cant remove.
Kaito, Dancing Shadow is a decent walker for this deck, again it can hold up enemy attackers or draw us a card and even create a blocker if needs be.
Vraska, Betrayal's Sting is the icing on the cake, if they aren’t dead from poison by the time she hits the board they will be shortly after!
Mana base is simple with Raffine's Tower being good to cycle late game while providing both colours of mana we need.
Shipwreck Marsh & Underground River our dual lands serve their purpose well. Shipwreck Marsh can be swapped out for Darkslick Shores if preferred.
A single Takenuma, Abandoned Mire & Otawara, Soaring City complete the land base.
