Competitive and political build of Scion of the Ur-Dragon designed to win in multiplayer through commander damage or infinite combo.

While researching and building this deck, I decided to strictly focus my attention on voltron and combo while intentionally avoiding reanimator. My playgroup is very graveyard oriented and as such, our local meta has evolved to answer it. It would not make sense to expose this deck to such a potential vulnerability.

In the early game, this deck attempts to establish low profile acceleration using either land ramp or mana rocks. After this, the ideal play is drop a political card such as Ghostly Prison or Collective Restraint to dissuade aggression as the remainder of the deck comes online.

In the midgame, this deck will lock down the board using a combination of tax effects, control magic and targeted removal to steer the game in a desirable direction. While doing this, the deck will be loading the board with damage multiplying endgames such as Xenagos, God of Revels, Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, Rafiq of the Many or Finest Hour .

To close the game, the deck will exploit the multipliers played paired with creative shapeshifts to eliminate opponents very quickly. If necessary, the deck can use tutor or transmute abilities to force an infinite combo win.

Some of the most noteworthy combos are as follows:

Moltensteel Dragon + Scion of the Ur-Dragon + Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon

Curiosity + Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind + Scion of the Ur-Dragon

Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind + Ophidian Eye + Scion of the Ur-Dragon

Aggravated Assault + Savage Ventmaw + Scion of the Ur-Dragon

I am looking for a new perspective on this deck and its contents. Specifically, I am looking for assistance identifying weaknesses, inefficiencies and potential improvements.

I appreciate all opinions, suggestions and analysis that anyone is willing to provide. I do ask that everyone provide a suggested cut alongside any potential additions.

Special thanks to Ryujin of MTGSalvation for his extremely helpful primer, xClashCityx for his assistance in strategic development.
