Antonius_Cleus See thats an interesting card, I was just talking about how i wish Dragonshift was in standard now and thats kind of like it just singular. Im not sure where it might fit in the sideboard, but its interesting enough. Might be better with a dragon trigger, like the old dragon cycle?

@Kizmetto If you really wanted to fit in the Dance of the Skywise, one thing I would do is probably put 2 of the three islands in the main board, seeing as in testing this, there hasn't been many mana problems. after that, I would stick 3 Dance in the sideboard

That's just me though, you can do whatever you think will work best.

You should totally add in Dragonshift .It not only fits the theme of your deck but also is Izzet.

Fun deck +1

If you weren't running Dig, Spellheart Chimera + haste would rock late game with all the instants/sorcery you're dumping.

I believe you should have some Swiftwater Cliffs in your sideboard instead of islands

Oh so theres 62 mainboard so we gotta find something to cut. Ive been contemplating slipping negate back into sideboard or maybe drop a stoke and something else. I feel 22 land is perfect at this point. We could drop all three stokes and add a land?

Palkyon says... #11

I say drop a negate and stoke

Battlefield Thaumaturge and Battlefield Thaumaturge is the smartest combo I've seen all day!

I meant to say Descent of the Dragons, but I'd definitely sub in Impact Tremors or Purphoros, God of the Forge for sure. Decent of the dragons will trigger both and if you intend on playing it for two like a badass you could make ALOT more damage regardless of the dragons doing damage or not

Not sure il it's legit, but have you thought about Hour of Need? Sure, it doesn't spawn dragons, but it's still spawning 4/4 flying Sphinx (with haste if Dragon Tempest is in the field). And it only cost 1U if Battlefield Thaumaturge is there. Maybe a little more heavy on U, since it requires one U for each target after the first, but it seems like another good win con to me. What do you think?

March 23, 2015 5:41 p.m.

Kizmetto says... #19

raffess What issues are you running into? Not enough blue by T2-3?

osefdtcninja I have considered it but since this is ultimately a red deck splashing blue i decided against it. I do like it though, its nice they get haste too and the spell itself is instant speed, but the lack of damage from etb Dragon Tempest makes it a little lack luster.

Wonderful. Had the same idea but mine missed some ideas for getting the pieces together, like Magma Jet and Dig Through Time. Not sure about the choice for Stoke the Flames, since it feels a bit misplaced. but remains one of the few options to dismantel enemies.+1, of course.

Vossler says... #21

How do you win the game if they have something like Virulent Plague resolve early? I understand that you can try to hold countermagic up for it but it might be a good idea to change your strategy up in the sideboard if they add a lot of cheap sweepers like that, Drown in Sorrow and Bile Blight.

March 24, 2015 5:50 p.m.

Skudrinka says... #22

What about adding Obelisk of Urd for Stoke the Flames and Negate, or at least have it as a SB option? Would make the deck resistant against early removal like @Vossler mentioned, and gives our goblins an even deadlier value in case we can't complete our combo.

March 24, 2015 8:04 p.m.

Vossler that's why he has stuff like Negate. Also, the dragons are 4/4's, they won't die immediatly and he can just kill a couple rabbles and thaumaturds to get the dragons instead of the goblins

March 24, 2015 8:07 p.m.

Skudrinka problem with the Obelisk of Urd is that it's really expensive, having the convoke helps him get it out maybe turn... 4? and by then if he doesn't have the dragons out already he needs to be doing stuff to get them out. Also, having the convoke and using it really just leaves him open for a turn when he needs to not be.

Yam I've tried to make this deck before. It turns out. The only way to make it a good build is if you go off the base of a Jeski Token deck. Otherwise, you can't gain life or get to your needed cards fast enough.
