Sideboard

Welcome to my decklist!

I've been playing devotion all the time throughout this season; mono-green version is strong, but it has problems with pushing through a lot of blockers an opponent can have, and is reasonably weak against control. That's why popular thing to do was splashing red with Crater's Claws as a main wincon. After that, the splash - white version appeared to utilize Mastery of the Unseen, which gives green devotion something, it lacked: you can put creatures onto the battlefield around counterspells and because of lifegain, topdecking Elvish Mystic in later stage is not as horrible as it used to be in mono-green. I've been playing a lot both versions, GR and GW, but couldn't make my mind about which one is the best. Ultimately it came to this: why not use both and become Naya!

This deck comes down to ramping into efficient creatures like Whisperwood Elemental, or Dragonlord Atarka , or just playing huge Genesis Hydra. When we stabilize the board, Mastery of the Unseen is used to gain life and take over the game. If we can stick Atarka for some time, or monstrous Fleecemane Lion, we are set to finish our opponent

Versus control plan is to play our threats and just try to win before they can put their big wincon into the game; our threats are resilent or are 2 for 1 cards like Genesis Hydra to have good matchup versus control.

I got second place at GPT at my LGS! I've finished swiss on 4th place after 2 wins and 2 draws (one of which was intentional - draw did assure both me and my opponent top4 finish). I've won 2-0 vs Abzan Aggro, 2-0 vs Mardu Dragons (strange, but Elspeth did all the job), then 1-1 with Abzan Control.

In playoffs my first opponent played GR Devotion. Very grindy matchup, all about speed and tempo. First 2 games were either me or my opponent mana screwing ourselves, but game 3 was all about stale. We were filling our boards for 30 minutes, without anyone having option to kill each other (he had Atarka beating 8 each turn, but Mastery offset that). Finally i drew my sideboard Crater's Claws and burnt for 24. 2-1 score.

In finals I've met deck nobody expected - Collected Blue Devotion. Thassa and shorecrasher with unockable were way too much for my deck to handle - I did not manage to draw Mastery of the Unseen for lifegain.

Overall I'm very happy with how this deck performs.
