Gather round children let me tell you the story of Rhys' revenge.

You all know how Rhys the Exiled got his title so we'll pick up the story right afterwards.

You see, Rhys took on a Dark Confidant, someone often referred to as Bob.

Bob offered Rhys an opportunity not afforded most Elves, a meeting with a God. As Rhys' situation was tenuous at best, and having no other real options he allowed himself to be convinced to attend the meeting...

Rhys gathered his traveling party the Realm Seekers including an Elvish Archdruid and an Elvish Harbinger as well as the heroes Glissa Sunseeker and Yeva, Nature's Herald. They set off from the Gilt-Leaf Palace

Along the way, Bob introduced them to new clans of Elves including the Wirewood Channeler , Quirion Druid and Joraga Warcaller clans.

He also began to introduce them to some non-elf forest denizens, including the Eternal Witness and a Seedborn Muse.

As they moved further away from their homeland, the introductions became less comfortable. Bob was beginning to lure Rhys towards the end goal, as he was introduced to both the Golgari Guildmage and the impressively wounded Jagged-Scar Archers

By this time Bob was filling Rhys' head with promises of Alpha Status . Speaking of the gains to be received for venturing into the traditionally forbidden lands of Enchantment, Artifice and Sorcery which Elves are conditioned to avoid at all costs.

At this point they had left behind the Sylvan Library and the Treetop Village in favor of a Leechridden Swamp and the Llanowar Wastes.

Promises of the Prowess of the Fair , the Presence of Gond, Elvish Guidance and Asceticism become offers of an Eyeblight's Ending .

Bob can see how successful his Subversion of Rhys is, how the Promise of Power is fashioning a shine of Greed rising in Rhys' eyes. Bob even takes a certain Nihilistic Glee in watching the Malevolent Awakening in Rhys.

As they arrive at Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx for the promised meeting with a Diety, Rhys sits down beside a Reflecting Pool to consider his situation. He had noticed some strange looking Elvish Aberration s in the group, as well as some changes in his friend Glissa, the Traitor, but the die was already cast.

At the meeting, Erebos, God of the Dead suggested a Moonlight Bargain , in exchange for a Sanguine Bond, he offered a Creeping Renaissance to the Elf.

He offered the assistance of his most trusted minion, Chainer, Dementia Master, as well as a being also known as Ashling, the Extinguisher and a monstrous Roiling Horror .

Erebos laid down upon Ashnod's Altar the Book of Rass, a Caged Sun and a Coat of Arms. "saying take these trinkets, they will help you gain access to Volrath's Laboratory . There you can use his Phyrexian Processor to provide an army. Along the way stop off at the Well of Lost Dreams , there I can help you begin a Conspiracy with which you can repopulate your lands..."

Rhys knew he was lost already, so he followed the instruction to Sign in Blood.

Erebos threw back his head and laughed, looking forward to the Slaughter to come, as he slapped down his Unspeakable Symbol upon the document next to Rhys' signature.

Rhys has sold everything of value for his one shot at revenge...

From here the story is yours...

This is intended to be a fun deck, it's likely not going to be super competitive, but it does have some tricks up its sleeve. The basic idea is to gain craptons of life via Rhys and trade it for mass card draw, drawing into more elves and eventually a wincon, Sanguine Bond, Unspeakable Symbol or Phyrexian Processor allow us to turn our life gain into Direct Damage or a procession of huge creatures.

If the deck is as much fun to run as it was to put together I'll likely invest in some of the better Elves, so leave any suggestions down below. I'd like to keep the non Elves under 10 total just for the Theme's sake.
