Mono-Black Vampire tribal. They will drink you! Made this deck for my lady because she loves vampires and hates losing.
One-drops
Shadow Alley Denizen
,
Quag Vampires
, Nighthaze: Early vamps that offer evasion to push in damage. The swampwalk becomes relevant turn two.
Blade of the Bloodchief,
Tragic Slip
: Vamps will be doing a lot of combat to trigger morbid and the blade. Killing a creature, casting slip to remove another, and then triggering 4 +1/+1 counters on an evasive vamp can be game changing.
Two-drops Vampire Hexmage, Urge to Feed, Feast of Blood: The hexmage has the utility of removing counters from planeswalkers, enchantments, etc. Her First strike also makes her a good blocker and target for +1/+1 counters. The two drop removal spells set us up for board advantage.
Contaminated Ground: Underated card in my opinion. Cast on turn two, this can severely hamper a deck not running black, especially multicolored decks. It also makes sure that swampwalk is useful in any matchup. Losing 2 life per tap is just icing on the cake, though not incredibily useful on its own. Sideboard out when playing against decks running black.
Three-drop Vampire Nighthawk: Flying, deathtouch, and lifelink on a 2/3 Vamp for 3 mana. Nuff said. x4.
Four-drops
Vampire Nocturnus
: In a Mono-Black deck, he's a guaranteed bomb. With only three colorless cards in the deck, the Nocturnus is gonna be boosting your board in a big way.
Five-drops Anowon, the Ruin Sage, Malakir Bloodwitch: The deck runs only vamps so Anowon is going to make opponents cry. Remember that Blade of the Bloodchief and
Tragic Slip
benefit greatly from any dying creatures. Useful during the opponent's turn. The Bloodwitch often steals a good amount of life by the time it hits the board. A 4/4 with flying that's immune to all the white removal out there is nothing to scoff at either.
Sideboard in progress. Please share your thoughts. All suggestions welcome!
