SirSh4ggy: Yeah, that's just my flex slot right now while I consider what effect I think my deck is missing. Clique is good, but I think I may need more Turn 2 plays so I'm leaning towards Logic Knot right now.

Turn 2 would be better with Mana Leak or Remand since Logic Knot isn't synergistic with Snapcaster Mage late-game, and you really should save those for late game anyway. Spell Snare is also a great choice for turn 2 plays

this list looks like traditonal control, you are not running enough lands for this style of deck, the cryptic commands are taxining enought on a 2 colour control deck let alone 3 and with so little land count i dont know. if your looking to run giest in esper i would highly recommend looking at esper zur lists.

Lothen: I am probably playing too few lands, but I haven't had issues hitting my land drops so far. I have some idea of what cards to trim down on if I have more consistent land issues though. My goal here is to play my favorite cards in my favorite color combination, so I don't want to go with a Zur build. Thanks for the advice!

I dont believe Lothen was suggesting that you run Zur, i think he was comparing your build to a classic blue-based tempo/control deck, with geist being the centerpiece instead of something like Zur the Enchanter or even Delver of Secrets. I think he was pointing to that deck specifically to illustrate its mana curve and land base. Anyway, suite deck. I love the mix of discard with counter magic, tho there are many who would disagree with me, i like having an assortment of answers to the field. Especially answers that can be snapped back. Bummer that you done have room for esper charm, but its a tight list so i understand.

Twanicus: Okay, that makes more sense. I have been looking at other Esper mana bases to see how I can upgrade mine. I've been having issues flooding out in games so I actually added 2 Esper Charms. Hopefully they'll give me some extra reach.

Yo, whaddup
Like, you're running 9 fetch lands, that's about fine. I don't like Glacial Fortress at all, I'd strongly recommend 1x Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth. That's super useful.
And Esper Charm is SO GOOD, shit nigga, I'd take off every Serum Visions for this card, goddammit, it's so awesome. I absolutely LOVE it, I always play 4 of in my esper decks, no matter what. Opt has been showing itself quite dece too, I like it.
Anyhow, I love your deck, bro.
Stay esper.

Twanicus: I haven't so far and have lost a lot of matches to flooding actually. I am still toying with numbers though, I've only been able to go to 2 FNMs so far and done some testing online.
I know I need some number of manlands, but I think I'm leaning towards Vent over Colonnade since I lack the mana traditional control has.

Hello!
I really enjoy the way this list looks. Geist of Saint Traft is one of my favorite magic cards, so any list that efficiently runs him is good in my opinion. Just a few questions...
1) Why Shambling Vent over Creeping Tar Pit? As only a one of anyway, the lifegain can't be that relevant or consistent, so I'd probably rather play a card that can sneak damage. Same activation cost also.
2) Spell Queller and Geist of Saint Traft in the same list always scares me. Feel really awkward having both in your opening hand.... feels even worse drawing either on turn three with the other in hand. Just feels like a conflict of interest for the deck.
I feel like this list runs similar to the Esper Mentor decks that kinda existed about 2 years ago, which I had a blast piloting! Best of luck!

Wow, that's awesome! I loved everything here.
I play something similar sometimes, would you please take a look at my Mid-esper-range?
btw, how are Cryptic Commands going for you? They feel kinda out of place in my list. I normally use them in the jeskai build The American Geist.
Anyhow, great work! +1
