Jonatanvc94 Thanks for the look! Unfortunately this is a Standard deck and Phyrexian Arena is not legal, but thanks for the suggestion.

Just curious, why the champion over Soldier of the Pantheon? Since you run athreos, it makes his raid ability less of a necessity? The soldier can block knuckleblades, anafenzas, and siege rhinos. Gain life also.

strikegently Thought about it, may consider 2 and 2 or keep solider in the sideboard. Yes he can block all those things you mentioned but Siege Rhino tramples over and most other creatures in the format he'd die to. Bloodsoaked Champion actually works really well with Athreos as 99% of the time my opponent chooses to return to my hand so I can recast for B instead of 2 mana.

Seige rhino wouldn't trample. It deals no damage to soldier of pantheon.

RichardVein not quite, you only need to assign an amount of damage that would be lethal if the creature didn't have protection. Siege Rhino definitely tramples over Soldier of the Pantheon

? But soldier does have protection. Therefore it negates all dmg from an attacking rhino when blocking.

he's right ;p lol

Like I said, you only have to assign enough damage that it WOULD kill the creature, if it didn't have protecion. Trample doesn't care what happens after that damage is assigned.

Trample still carries over even with protection.

But to comment on the deck its self, I ran a BW constellation deck built around the life gain and you losing life with underworld coinsmith, our removal is the same, card draw the same, and same thought with God of passage, problem I ran into and I am assuming you will as well, is to much removal. From what I see we ran the same creatures, minus the wingmate on my end I ran countless battles for the added beef, plus I ran sorin over ajani. To be really effective your deck hinges on getting pridemate down in T2 and Athreos on T3 like mine, if not then you are just trading turn for turn while you wait for either removal or a card draw to come. I applaud the attempt at a BW deck other than the normal crap you see out there, last FNM I ran into 2 Abzan decks, 2 UB control and one re-animator...all seen on the local top 8 list with no changes made. I went 4-1 btw with my Controlled Aggro deck.

I think about 20% of your sideboard should be to deal with stormbreath dragon

If so, these decks really aren't all that similar looking at them. Ajani's Pridemate and Athreos, God of Passage are definitely not my primary wincons, just supplements to put pressure on my opponents early.

cjk191997 I am a little worried about Stormbreath Dragon, downfall is my only real way to deal with it outside of a Herald of Torment bestowed on a black creature. I'm thinking about adding another downfall to the sideboard and maybe a Murderous Cut. Do you have any suggestions?

All the thoughtsieze and despise you can get your hands on? Silence the believers?maybe a copy of end hostilities in the side and just hold back on your creatures a little if you side it in? There isn't really much I can think of

Oh actually master of the feast would work perfectly

Stormbreath is a tough card to handle in standard right now, thoughtseize and despise would be your first and best options I'd think. Outside that then you're looking at another downfall, maybe run 4 main board and 2 utterend, or a murderous cut. I hate running a side board just for one card but since you're not running red your options are limited. I think maybe siding the wing mates and running 3 thoughtseize main board, this will drop your mana curve some and giving you better play with pulling a removal spell from their hand or a stormbreath.

Font of Vigor, Chalice of Death  Flip/Chalice of Life  Flip, Dying Wish, Meditation Puzzle, Vizkopa Guildmage, and Wall of Limbs could work well with this deck, as they are cards which can lead to win cons (Think Guildmage or the wall with Lifegain, Chalice of Death  Flip, sac Wall of Limbs with a Dying Wish)

buttergolem it's a standard deck, so Font of Vigor and Wall of Limbs are the only legal suggestions.
