Hello Fellow Planeswalkers! I have resurrected this old deck I built back when Dominaria first released back in 2018. Wilds of Eldraine has given Wizards as a tribe some new support! Prepare for 8-Bolt Wizards, the new and improved version!

You're a Wizard Prodigy

We are running a suite of Wizards with Triggered Abilities to synergize with Harmonic Prodigy for value.

• Ingenious Prodigy scales well into the mid and late game, but can be used as early as turn 2. With the other Prodigy out, the {X} +1/+1 counters getting added will be triggered a second time, effectively doubling the +1/+1 counters it gets.
• Soul-Scar Mage fits the Wizard bill and can make burning creatures with spells really problematic for our foes. Only the Prowess portion of the card will trigger an additional time as the "wither" effect is a replacement effect. Keep that in mind.
• Snapcaster Mage is an incredible Wizard on his own, but can trigger twice with our Red Prodigy out. Truly needed for this build.

The Wizard's Spellbook

Our Wizards need a good book of spells to be able to bolt our foes! Here is our spellbook!

• Lightning Bolt is straight up the best red spell in the game.
• Wizard's Lightning is basically just another copy of Lightning Bolt for this deck. This rounds out our "8-Bolt"
• Preordain was chosen as our main cantrip due to it being able to dig just as deep as Expressive Iteration with the added benefit of being usable turn one.
• Counterspell is our main tool to tell our opponent's "No.".
• Force of Negation is an emergency "No." button.
• Flame of Anor gives the deck options, ESPECIALLY in a Wizard Tribal deck as it allows us to choose 2 excellent options.
• Banefire is a singleton that we hope to see in games that go long as a powerful finishing tool.

Planeswalker Support

Our build runs singletons of 2 different 'walkers. One helps control the game and draw us cards, while the other deals damage and provides gas in the form of pseudo card draw and mana.

• Jace, the Mind Sculptor is an excellent 'walker with great control, draw power, and even his own wincon.
• Chandra, Torch of Defiance is another excellent 'walker with a more aggressive playstyle and her own wincon as well.
