The moment I saw these two spoiled, I knew they would make great commanders. Virtus the Veiled, the main reason I built this deck. Can come down as early as turn one with Dark Ritual and if hits you just once, your life goes from 40 to 19! This will make Virtus a threat to the table, causing him to be a main focus for removal. In order to combat this I included many ways to get him out on turn one or two, when people are least likely to have or use removal, as well as cards that can give him hexproof and shroud. Another concern is that Virtus won't get a chance to hit people. Yet another reason to get him out early, but that's where Virtus' good buddy Gorm the Great comes in! Him and other cards lure him away so Virtus can get a good hit in from the back! Gorm gets even better if you give him abilities such as deathtouch, making him a machine that will survive most attacks from creatures, and able to potentially kill two creatures each combat! Other cards that get creatures out of Virtus' way are removal spells. We have tons of them! lots of two mana removal so we can get rid of two creatures by the time Virtus is attacking!

Virtus' ability is obviously the theme and main focus of this deck, so I included cards that do the same thing, manipulating peoples life totals is the name of this decks game. We have tons of cards the hit people's life totals hard, which makes Wound Reflection and Archfiend of Despair the best cards in this deck.
