A competitive combo on a budget!

This deck is the basic Hermit Druid combo list, with a small spin, and a big one.

The big one is that the decklist is absurdly cheap as of 7/17/2018, sitting at $100.

The small one is instead of going through Walking Ballista with Nooze Tasigur, the Golden Fang, Beast Within, and Reality Shift are our win route.

Confused? Don't be. If you have yet to understand what this deck is trying to do, I will work it all backwards to help understand.

Our commander, Tasigur, the Golden Fang allows us to mill ourselves, and recur cards. If we have infinite mana, with either , then we mill out our library (if not already done), and recur every non-land card from our graveyard to our hand. Cast Beast Within on an opponent's permanent, then Reality Shift, rinse and repeat by returning activating Tasigur, the Golden Fang again. Do this until you have exiled all of your opponents decks and destroyed every permanent on your opponent's battlefield. Pass the turn and let them draw and lose the game.

Now, how do we make infinite mana?

We use Necrotic Ooze, with Devoted Druid and Channeler Initiate in the graveyard to make infinite mana. The combo is you tap Necrotic Ooze to make a mana, then untap it putting a -1/-1 counter on it, then tap Channeler Initiate to remove the counter and get another mana. Rinse and repeat untapping and tapping it, putting counters and removing counters. But we don't just do that. We use Wall of Roots and Blighted Bat in the graveyard to get the Necrotic Ooze haste to pull all of this off.

How do we get a Necrotic Ooze on the field with all of these cards in the yard?

Well, we actually get more cards in the yard. Dread Return, Narcomoeba, and Dregscape Zombie to be a tad more specific. This allows us to sacrifice 3 creatures (we already have one creature on the battlefield) to return Necrotic Ooze.

This is done because we can mill out our whole library with one creature.

What creature? Hermit Druid.

Because we have no basic lands in our library, we mill ourselves out. That lets us get 3 creatures, sacrifice them all to Dread Return, and win the game with infinite mana, etc.

Okay. You know understand why Hermit Druid is a one-card win condition in our deck. There may be some question though. How do you get cards all of those cards in your graveyard? You could have drawn one or two of them. Phantasmagorian is one of our ways of doing that. Also, don't be afraid of casting any of them. You can sacrifice them to Cabal Therapy or Dread Return. You can also discard cards to Cabal Therapy.

What else does this deck have though? Flash+Protean Hulk is our fastest way to win. Having both in hand and casting Flash allows us to trigger Protean Hulk's death trigger, and fetch Body Double and Carrion Feeder, Body Double will enter as Protean Hulk, sacrifice it to Carrion Feeder, fetching Llanowar Elves and Hermit Druid and Mogis's Marauder. Giving haste to Hermit Druid and Llanowar Elves allows you to win for .

We run plenty of budget tutors like Muddle the Mixture, Dimir Infiltrator, Shred Memory, Summoner's Pact, along with a fair number of counterspells, some removal, card draw, and ramp.

Well that is the deck! Under $100 is pretty good for a deck of this nature in my opinion!

If you don't want to pay 100 dollars, try $60 Hermit Druid? or $40 Hermit Druid.

If you have a bit more money, try $300 Hermit Druid.
