Ramp
This deck has a lot of mana dorks, play them! There's also two mana doublers,
Caged Sun
, and
Zendikar Resurgent
.
Dump mana into
Joraga Treespeaker
if you can protect it and the payoff will be very high, giving most of your creatures :
Thousand-Year Elixir
effectively gives all your mana dorks haste and can get a bit more value from big mana dorks.
Marwyn, the Nurturer
,
Wirewood Channeler
,
Priest of Titania
,
Elvish Archdruid
, and
Arbor Elf
with
Elvish Guidance
, can all easily tap for 4 mana, which can become infinite mana with either
Umbral Mantle
or
Sword of the Paruns
.
It's worth noting that you can tap the afore mentioned creatures for 3 mana and still make a creature with infinite power and toughness with
Umbral Mantle
Drawing Cards
Beast Whisperer
,
Primordial Sage
,
Soul of the Harvest
,
Vanquisher's Banner
, and
Zendikar Resurgent
all effectively draw you a card when you cast a creature spell.
Lifecrafter's Bestiary
also does the aforementioned if you pay .
Gilt-Leaf Archdruid
draws you a card every time you cast a druid.
Collective Unconscious
and
Benefactor's Draught
will usually draw you 3+ cards and are worth the one-off effect.
Harmonize
draws 3 cards, plain and simple.
Gaea's Blessing
a small amount of graveyard recursion and makes you immune to milling to the graveyard assuming you don't draw it.
Vomit Out Your Entire Deck!
Paradox Engine
is one of the central win conditions, allowing you to play most of your deck in one turn simply by having a bunch of mana dorks and something to draw you cards.
Steal All the Land!
Steal your opponents land with
Gilt-Leaf Archdruid
! All you need is seven druids on the board, if you chose
Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury
as your commander, this is a lot easier to achieve.
Another card that can do the same thing is
Llanowar Mentor
, while at the same time filtering out dead cards in your hand.
Beatdown!
Use the many elf lords and/or
Coat of Arms
(on a big body),
Ezuri, Renegade Leader
,
Beastmaster Ascension
,
Overrun
,
Overwhelming Stampede
, and
Eldrazi Monument
.
Infect!
Everybody loves/hates infect. With
Tel-Jilad Fallen
/
Viridian Corrupter
and
Stoneforge Masterwork
and
Taunting Elf
, you can easily achieve an infect win and make your playgroup want to ban infect even more than they already do! :D
Control
Sometimes we don't want our opponents to have fun, so make sure to use your removal effectively.
Song of the Dryads
is arguably some of the best removal for commanders in the format.
Phyrexian Revoker
is effective at stopping cards like
Walking Ballista
or
Karn, Silver Golem
from oneshotting everyone or locking down the board.
Primal Command
can tuck a vital card in a pinch.
Ghost Quarter
gets rid of lands you don't want around.
Krosan Grip
is sometimes needed to make sure it really goes away without meddling.
Fog
is good for saving your ass when the whole table is swinging at you.
Arcane Lighthouse
hexproof and shroud are annoying and this fixes that.
Tutor for stuff!
There is a grand total of 7 tutors, which helps improve reliability and consistency.
Time of Need
searches for legendary creatures, of which there are four. Most of the time you'll be searching for
Ezuri, Renegade Leader
,
Marwyn, the Nurturer
, or
Yeva, Nature's Herald
.
Sylvan Scrying
is a second
Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx
, can grab you a utility land, or you can search up
Inventors' Fair
to tutor for
Paradox Engine
/
Vanquisher's Banner
/
Thousand-Year Elixir
/etc. just make sure you have at least three artifacts.
Inventors' Fair
See above.
Primal Command
is an incredibly versatile card, one of it's modes tutors any creature in your library.
Expedition Map
functions similar to
Sylvan Scrying
but on an artifact.
Skyshroud Poacher
tutors any elf straight to the battlefield, this is ridiculous and way more powerful than it should be.
Going wide
Lys Alana Huntmaster
gives you twice the elves every time you cast an elf!
Ambush Commander
turns your land into a bunch of elves.
Elvish Promenade
double your elves for the low cost of , can end games.
Imperious Perfect
a turn for an elf, great value.
Presence of Gond
tap for more elves!
Drawing the right cards
Gilt-Leaf Seer
allows you to peek at the top and get the right cards at the right time.
Lifecrafter's Bestiary
's scry 1 helps put stuff you don't want on the bottom, making sure you probably won't see it for a while.
Protecting your stuff
Ezuri, Renegade Leader
keeps your elves alive for mana.
Lightning Greaves
/
Swiftfoot Boots
are commander staples and keep things alive and hasty.
Eldrazi Monument
at the cost of one elf a turn you can be immune to most board wipes and give all your creatures evasion.
Good Stuff
Shapers' Sanctuary
makes your opponents want to remove your stuff less and gives you value if they do, and for super cheap.
Taunting Elf
regenerate with
Ezuri, Renegade Leader
and you can go multiple turns unblocked against one opponent, need I say more?
Yeva, Nature's Herald
is
Vedalken Orrery
for 1/3 of the deck.
Vedalken Orrery
is $20 at the time of writing this for a good reason, instant speed creatures are very powerful.
Copperhorn Scout
is criminally underrated and can allow you to get twice the value out of anything that taps for something.
Misc. Interactions
Immaculate Magistrate
+
Joraga Warcaller
gets out of hand very quickly.
