I think this is an awesome idea I for some reason feel I should point out Blood Baron of Vizkopa This is a difficult to remove threat as well as a life link beat stick.

You also might consider Castigate and/or Tidehollow Sculler as added hand control.

Also Death Grasp is not modern legal how ever Profane Command and Debt to the Deathless are.

This deck looks really fun. +1 from me.

DragoLion: yeah, while looking for some cool new cards for the deck, I came accross Death Grasp and thought immediately that it was too good a card to not have in the deck. Didn't even think that it hadn't been printed in forever. As for the other suggestions, Blood Baron of Vizkopa seems like a cool idea but I'm gonna have to do some play testing to see how possible it is to trigger his ability. I'm not entirely sure how frequently I'll be able to get that to happen.

Blind Obedience and Royal Assassin make a mean combo.

Jimmy_Chinchila Thanks buddy!

awesomealex77 That sounds like a lot of fun. I'll have to do some play testing to see how he works out. Thanks for the suggestion!

This is a nice midranger, so have you considered maybe adding a tutor or two and including my favorite insta-win combo, Sanguine Bond and Exquisite Blood? Also, Obzedat, Ghost Council is a good card for just relentlessly hounding your opponent while being hard to kill.

Beautiful. Pretty much everything I love about white-black. But why not Duress in place of Inquisition of Kozilek? Or even Thoughtsieze if you can afford it. There are also some other cards you might want to think about here: http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/casual-related-formats/165775-need-more-hand-disruption-cards-like-duress

I also second the idea about Obzedat.

I know the cmc is kinda ridiculous but Debt to the Deathless is one of my favorite cards because it's so silly if you have the mana for it

Hero's Downfall is another piece of reliable removal if you have trouble with planeswalkers in your meta.

Brain Maggot/Sin Collector/Tidehollow Sculler are all really nice for establishing board presence and attacking their hand, especially Tidehollow Sculler if you can manage to get off the "permanent discard" exploit.

Pack Rat gets ridiculously strong ridiculously fast in shells like these where you have very few beaters, and is very resilient. It can also bait out removal/counters early to make way for your other heavy hitters.

Obzedat, Ghost Council has been mentioned often, and I also highly recommend it. A nice beatstick that drains the opponent and dodges all non-instant speed removal is really nice.

Thoughtseize is also amazing in the mainboard because grabbing any non-land and seeing their hand first turn is just so powerful as you are (almost) always guaranteed to somehow disrupt their strategy once that resolves.

Bitterblossom/Elspeth, Sun's Champion can both become token-generating monsters that take over the board if not dealt with, or can just give you those necessary blockers versus Zoo or Tokens.

Wurmcoil Engine fits in with this "make life hell for your opponent" strategy, as well as being a sizeable and tenacious beater, so he is always worth looking into as a 1-of slot.

Kitchen Finks can tide you over in the early-mid game as it can act as a tenacious swinger/blocker with the added lifegain benefit.

Liliana of the Veil helps control the board state, coming in early and just wrecking whatever plans they had. Bonus points for completely shafting Bogles.

Dark Confidant can also help push with added reach, pretty much as a creature-form Phyrexian Arena. It also comes down a turn earlier, and can serve as an attacker/blocker if need be/you need to get rid of his effect.

I really like your deck though, +1 from me and I hope that you can continue to improve this as you test it and find new cards that you like!

I would agree on the Hero's Downfall part. Elspeth, Sun's Champion is more powerful than Bitterblossom in that it can help destroy powerful enemies as well as making three times the chump blockers. However, If you're looking at the CMC, then Bitterblossom is just so much more effective, especially if you have a Nyx-Fleece Ram type thing that can help balance it. Come to think of it, Nyx-Fleece Ram is an absolute pest to play against, as it gives a fast blocker and life gain, tempting the opponent's removal. If they choose not to use a kill spell, then it is a continual thorn in their side. Either way it helps tremendously.

Ajani's Pridemate would be a great addition to your deck. With so much lifegain,it can be a big threat. Also, in sideboard you can add a couple of removal more such as Doom Blade and Go for the Throat.

Moonbar: I really like the Obzedat, Ghost Council. He fits the theme of the deck quite well. I'll have to find a spot for at least 1.

MarioSmallszs: I've been testing the deck out trying both Inquisition of Kozilek and Duress. Almost always, Kozilek is able to get what I want out of their hand. I'll keep testing it out though and see how it goes.

Minjahamster: wow! Thanks for all the advice. Unfortunately, a lot of your suggestions, as great as they are, are simply too expensive. I'd love to have a couple Liliana of the Veils or Dark Confidants in here, but I just can't justify paying $40+ on a single card. Hero's Downfall however I have a few copies of. I've been using Pithing Needle to deal with planeswalkers but I suppose getting rid of them is better than just shutting them down. ps... I think you forgot to hit that +1 lol...

spyroswiz29: While I do have some cards to gain life in the deck, it's not strictly a "life gain" deck. I love Ajani's Pridemate and have him in another one of my orzhov decks, but he just doesn't belong here.

Thanks again everybody for all the help and suggestions! Keep em coming!

Yeah, in my second comment I totally didn't realize that you already had Nyx-Fleece Rams in the deck list. By the way, have you thought about Deathbringer Liege? It is just an absolutely epic B/W murder card.

Moonbar: Oh my... How did I not know of this guy. Going to have to do some work tonight to see about getting Deathbringer Liege in. Thanks!

Yep. He is just ridiculous, especially if you play a multicolored spell in this deck.

maybe Marsh Flats? I can also see Conjurer's Ban or Castigate being cool in here. just a couple ideas.

jorjo10 says... #23

Since you have quite a lot of creatures in here and plenty of ways how to get life I am surprised no one before me mentioned Archangel of Thune. This card is just ridiculous with Nyx-Fleece Ram and the extort ability. You might want to consider it.

June 6, 2015 12:36 p.m.

xenith4127 says... #24

I agree with jorjo. The archangel would be a great addition in here.

June 6, 2015 12:37 p.m.

xenith4127: If only I could afford a set of Marsh Flats... I'm going to try Castigate in place of Batwing Brume and see how it does.

jorjo10: I have no idea how I didn't think of her. Archangel of Thune absolutely deserves a spot in the deck. I'll plug her in, in place of Baneslayer Angel.
