My 3rd Infect deck. The first 2 were just for casual, one of them a budget Pauper which cost around $15.

The idea behind this deck is Competitive. Infect is a mechanic I enjoy, and a competitive deck that I can have in reserve, or use for fun.

Deathrite Shaman is in for casual play, i am aware it isn't modern legal so lives in the maybe-board if going competitive. This does mean I have 3 spaces for something...

- Under $150

  • Could stand up in a competetive match

  • Consistent

The staple of any blue deck, Blighted Agent is one of the best cards in the deck, always useful no matter when it's drawn.

Glistener Elf and Ichorclaw Myr are very solid. 1 drop 1/1 infect, the staple of any green Infect deck. Ichorclaw Myr is very impressive, with the self buff of +2/+2 when it becomes blocked often puts people in a tricky situation, potentially letting it get through for lethal if we have the right spells.

The deck has changed multiple times. The land base was very tricky, but I think it has been sorted out properly now. It is only Forests and Islands, however Yavimaya Coast and Centaur Garden were in the deck at one point.

Centaur Garden firstly isn't Modern legal, so it's out of the deck for that alone. Also, it's Threshold ability is useless combined with Become Immense, as I always want to be Delving with it, to save mana.

Yavimaya Coast is excellent, but in 6 playtests I never drew one.

Land Base is something I definitely need help on. I playtested in a free-for-all and won, land base was okay, however I found myself topdecking fairly early in the game.

The best card I've found has to be Wild Defiance . It is never not useful, Slip Through Space gives an unblockable creature that gets +3/+3 aswell.

Become Immense + Wild Defiance + any creature in the deck is lethal damage. Slip through Space + any buff spell + any creature is lethal damage. Wild Defiance is a crucial card for the deck, and I can perfectly justify a playset.

Might of Old Krosa and Phytoburst are both sorcery (When wouldn't you play Might of Old Krosa in main phase?) and give very large buffs for fairly cheap.

Vines of Vastwood gives us hexproof when needed, and +4/+4 ontop when needed. Very solid card.

Apostle's Blessing is extra protection from something of my choice, and also gives an unblockable creature in the right circumstances.

Gitaxian Probe is a card I didn't want to keep in, however after playing with it it gives card advantage, and gives us info on the opponents hand, allowing a better game plan.
