Encroach only hates nonbasic lands. as in, it searches for a land that is not basic. you may be thinking it searches for a card that's not a basic land.

I know its green but its a trap card. if your getting countered. bite back like a boss. Summoning Trap. its a zero drop. I dont know if it would work in this deck tho. For some reason all my ideas are green. Primeval Titan for the fetch land. Inkwell Leviathan is probably already on your list.
Roil Elemental is like your mob boss here.

Summoning Trap wouldn't work very well in this deck since he doesn't hard cast any creatures, so he doesnt actually "cast" a creature spell.

Dang. Missed the text. Yeah it's the same thing with Quicksilver Amulet and Elvish Piper

This deck is like a much slower version (unless you have a really lucky draw,) of my deck. Check out my black legacy deck in a few playtests

@solron22, hey how has your deck been doing in playtesting, especially with the low land count? I'd like to build this deck, it looks so fun :P
February 17, 2012 4:53 a.m.
@shedidthistome well its pretty fast in my IMO and some other people haha but many prefer the B/U Reanimator Build but the cards for the Blue you need especially the dual lands and the counter they are so expensive so thats why i like to remain as mono-black :) try playtesting for yourself and beat some other legacy decks in the site :D
goodluck on building yours! :D i haven't tried this on any tournys still thinking if its already in good shape to compete.
February 17, 2012 11:01 a.m.
@solron22, do you have any links to the B/U reanimator builds, just so I can see the disparity? Thanks!
February 17, 2012 6:03 p.m.
@shedidthistome sorry none, just type in google "B/U Reanimator deck legacy" and it will give you some links :)

Magmatic Force is a lovely card to reanimate. That 3 damage an upkeep hurts.

dont put phage with sheoldred cuh if platium leaves and sheoldred forces you to bring back phage thats game happened to me many times so i nix phage and angel in my edh and also both of your stradgies are the same in your description i would recommend you find a different one because those are close to impossibe a turn two win however might be more plausible and is realistic especially because the rule with reanimtors if you aint won by turn 4-5 you arent gunna

@smokeylocc, i consistently play my own tweaked version of this deck for 10-12 turns vs my friend's merfolk deck, and i still win. it's pretty much a rule in legacy tournaments that you need to be fast, but this is perfectly viable.
@shedidthistome, Reanimator - Josh Weinundy (won 1st in a legacy tourney)

@solron22, this may sound lame, but why the Pithing Needle in your sideboard over two more Null Rod? I notice a lot of reanimator decks sideboarding Pithing Needle. Am I missing something?
February 22, 2012 3:32 p.m.
@solron22, also... correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you can have Akroma, Angel of Fury and Akroma, Angel of Wrath both out at the same time, due to the legendary rule. So you wouldn't have five color protections out at once.

SplodyCopter says... #20
the legend rule applies to the entire name of the card, so if both cards were named Akroma, but they were different cards (which wouldn't happen), then the legend rule would apply. but since it's Akroma, blah blah blah and Akroma, different blah, they're two different legends.
however, the planeswalker rule deals with the card type line - you can't have Jace, the Mind Sculptor and Jace Beleren out at the same time, since both are Planeswalker - Jace.

use Anger instead of urabrask and you only need 2 rituals and buried alive and 1 of any 1 or two cast reanimation spells
March 27, 2012 12:26 p.m.
hats off to you sir, but how do you answer forces on first turn or dazes on the draw with no counters? i love the deck type and this deck seems solid and i plan to steal some ideas from it :D im just super limited in funds right now so i cant get some of the staple cards like pithing needle and a few of the creatures. so +1 from me and maybe look into some blue for counters
April 1, 2012 9:08 p.m.
@DarianDDS thanks! and Chancellor of the Annex and Extirpate will help me get rid of any counter spells :)
@smokeylocc lol i was going to say that.
