Maybeboard

Creature (1)

Enchantment (1)

I don't like my creatures dying. It's annoying and just not fun, so I'm always on the lookout for ways to create a nigh unkillable army. This deck exploits the most recent method I've found, a combo between Retribution of the Ancients and undying. Since There's no limit on the number of creatures you can remove counters from and creatures with undying will always come back as long as they don't have a counter on them, as long as you leave up one black mana, you have an army that won't stay off the board longer than it takes to resolve the stack. It also doubles as bonus removal, although in a practical sense it won't be able to remove much more than a 2/2 or maybe a 3/3 that you blocked since it's unlikely that you'll have flooded the board with more than one or two of the critters. Big removal using Retribution of the Ancients generally requires Protean Hydra, which is another fun combo I've found. Since there's also no limit on the number of +1/+1 counters that can be removed from any particular creature, you can use Retribution of the Ancients to grow your hydra because the hydra's second ability only cares that the +1/+1 counters were removed, not how they were removed. Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord is a backup plan in case you don't get Retribution of the Ancients, and they've been killing all your dudes. He can also deliver a finishing blow if you've got a decent sized hydra on the board or you can prick your opponents one life a time if you're patient by sacrificing your undying dudes, but that's kind of a last resort.
