The deck uses a lot of graveyard interaction to get big-power/low-cost creatures for Varolz's Scavenge, targeting any of our creatures with infect, to swing and one shot our opponent(s). Normally, these high power low cost creatures would have intense drawbacks, but they don't factor in on scavenging into our infect creatures, and a couple of their downsides actually work to our benefit. Phyrexian Dreadnought and Death's Shadow (90% of the time), immediately put themselves into the graveyard when you play them, and then they are scavengeable with Varolz immediately for just 1 mana (2 total if from hand). No discard or to-graveyard tutoring required. On top of that, worst case scenario, you can just target Varolz himself with the scavenges to kill with commander damage.
